I am being driven mad by clicks! Since poking about with my PC and downloading the latest drivers for sound and graphics cards the clicks have been turned back on, so there is 'click' every time pages turn over or 'my conversations' refreshes, and I can't remember how to turn them off!
I shall be spending most of today in No2 son's room installing Studio ver 8 on his PC and either persuading him to put my spare disk with all the data for the digital video into his second PC or transferring ot over the LAN, which could take awhile. I just hope he doesn't when I attempt the voice over!

I turned them off by using Phoenix instead of IE

fg is getting a killer deal, even for where she lives, at 425. I paid 450 a month for a two-bedroom house (not including utilities) but the landlord loved the idea of renting to a couple, and not 2 college kids. But I don't know...what about laundry? That can get pricey.
I worked all day, made good (although not great) money, and went to history party which lasted far too late into the night. i am now quite pleasantly buzzed, but not drunk, and far too tired for my own good.
But the STBX leaves for 2 months in less than 48 hours, and I feel good about that. he and I have worked out a rather good thing...i.e., we don't have to live together, and we get a decent amount of $$. So all is good.
Does anyone else have the problem of being the faciliatator between everyone else you know getting together? After a bit, it gets old.

I switched my system sounds back on to see how long I lasted before I had to switch them off again. I managed two minutes and five seconds. The one that got to me most was the 'scrolling' noise - it sounds as if a cricket has got stuck in the workings of my monitor.
Today the pressure is falling and I am feeling much better. I may even attempt my major biennial shop at the big Tescos if I can figure out the times for a Saturday. I'll get a taxi back.

When I saw the pressure tumbling, Amy, I knew it would be a better day for you
Meanwhile, I have given up on trying to use that program. We have tried file sharing across the LAN, sooooo slooooow. The only other possibility would be to put the drive into No2 son's Pentium 4 but that would mess up all the drive letters and take too long with the general fiddling and tweaking. So I shall now wait until I can afford a new PC or the bits for No2 son to do a custom build.
I have sounds turned off somewhere in settings, but it is that internal click which annoys me and the off box for it is not in an obvious place which I have forgotten

Good morning! I went to a dinner in aid of a 50th wedding anniversary celebration of some neighbors here in Lincoln, and all of the rest of Lincoln was there too. They did a hilarious and sometimes ribald renewal of vows, presided over by an Episcopal priest who is also a neighbor. The caterers were neighbors, and the cook's wife was also the piano player, occasionally accompanied by a few singers, also neighbors. Another neighbor took advantage of the occasion to wear his custom-made black and white shoes.
Lincoln is such an amazing town!
The Wicked Old Ladies of Lincoln (WOLL) will be having their next coven at my house, at the beginning of November.
New conversation definitely on Monday.

I'm still trying to get to grips with video under Linux, what are you reccomendations?
I need to work it out soon as my XP setup has just trashed its partition table again and I can't be bothered to reinstate it so the machine is getting a nice new copy of mandrake 9.2 instead.

MR, I take it that is good news about the STBX husband (have I got that right.
Good news about the rent FG, incidently we haven't got the deposit back from our old place. It was a lovely house, that could have be worth £200 000 with a little work, (decorating and re plumbing) but the landlord was letting it to students at well belowing the going rate.
I feel quite guilty because I reccomended it to Vip, because it was such a good deal and in such a nice area. But knowing how awkward the landlord is being with giving the deposite back I'm starting to wish that I hadn't. It's getting to the stage where we're considering getting some law students to do some threatening.
I have always been slighlty cynically of people who claim to have fallen in lust at first sight. But it seems to have happened to me. I was in a tutourial with a girl on an exchange program, - who doesn't know I exist. Oh dear.
Still these pointless crushes make life worth living. My old one was getting a little repetative.

Some friends are going to have a birthday party for me a month late, today. My fall has been so busy with various things, that I have not been able to meet up with them all, as of yet. It should be interesting, at least, to see what they have planned.

Hope you enjoy the party, Marv!
Hypatia, weather is wonderful here, too. In fact, I'm going to go sit outside, cos it's warmer out than in.
I have a question. I am looking around for a digital projector, and I am not sure whether I can take for granted what they do. Are digital projectors basically a way of beaming a computer monitor on to the wall, or do that have some sort of internal mechanism that can only handle the likes of powerpoint? I want to use a projector to put Photoshop or Painter up on the wall for an audience, and be able to move the cursor round, draw arrows, zoom in and out using the native software, and so forth.
Do all digital projectors do this? It may sound like a stupid question, but for all the reading I've done, not one blurb actually mentions this. Either it's taken for granted or projectors don't do what I want.

Hypatia, as my younger brother is want to say, 'it's splendiferous' outside. I'm not 'stuck' inside.

It is a lovely day here in NJ, too. Unfortunately, the only time I got outside was to drive daughter #1 to and from the PSAT exam.
I've spent the rest of the time sewing a Halloween costume for daughter #2. She's going to be a bag of leaves.
And Mr. Moniker is back in Bahrain, again.

If it's any constellation I have no idea what sort of day it was here, I went into the the uni at 8.30 and didn't leave until it was dark.
And I also spent a large part of the in between times looking at nasty slides of road accidents
