Caerwyn, your name is familiar. Did you know Arlecchinno?

I've been cluttering up the Atelier for nigh on two years, so we may well have bumped into each other and wasn't Arl in here too awhile ago?
I do have the most appalling memory these days. Perhaps I should take some of that gingko whatsits stuff to improve it.

The problem with ginko is you keep forgetting to take it.
Arl is also me. So I either know you from using that nickname, or from before that with this one

Next weekend is Memorial Day in Amurrica. Shall we have a barbeque, and officially open the terrace and gardens for socialising?

Indy in the morning and Pepsi 400 @ Charlotte in the evening .... now if only there was an F1 race

I'm down for the BBQ.
Hey Irv! Might I suggest that you compromise your morals a lot and go work at the Canyon? The money's good, the rent is cheap, and besides, you have one of the seven natural wonders right there....
Paper is done, or at least as done as it will be this round. I went from 14 pages in the rough, rough draft to 22 in the not quite so rough rough draft. It's very interesting, to say the least. I think it might be an excellent paper. It's just that I think I am trying to put too much into it.
Then again, I am sure that I will be told to add more stuff.

And if this posts multiple times, forgive me. I'm a bit fuzzy eyed.

Heya Irv! Welcome back!
Well I am home safe at last. After a day of no sleep (38 hours straight) and driving over 1000 kilometers, I am going to crash in me bed.
Notes on blog...
It's ok, I can take all the teasing you want to through at me, I always remember it and reciprocate in kind later.
The wedding was fantastic. I will post more details tomorrow when i am actually awake.

Caer, We hope to be at the Meetup. I am looking at flights over the next couple of days.

Once the weather turned warm everything started growing really fast - everywhere I look I see light green stuff, and if the weather is fine when I leave w*rk I'll take a photo of a cherry tree blossoming... unfortunately I missed the magnolia's - there are three small trees growing on a pavement among houses and streets on the way to the nearest underground station from w*rk, but I usually go by commuter train... they look really nice, with white flowers on bare branches... but this year I was too late passing that way - I only saw the withering remanins... it's over in less than a week... *sighs, hoping to catch them next year instead*

Irv/Arl, that solves that one then
I'm hopeless with any supplements, my daily pills I take automatically and often get in a mild panic as to whether I have taken them as is habit, or have forgotten them altogether .
Looks like there will be a goodly gathering of Salonistas at the meet then.
Our magnolia is only just beginning to recovery from the hard frost that killed off the blooms and emerging leaves. It still looks rather bare, but all the rain should have perked it up.
It is a Bank Holiday on Monday and the day of the Surrey County Show. It is the largest one day agricultural show in the UK and we shall be going down to the Park to join in the fun. H's first stop is the tent and then we go and see the . They are snowy white (where appropiate otherwise the Jacob would be disqualified) and all fluffy from a shampoo and blow dry. My favourite is the Crafts tent, where I get dragged away from the jewellery stalls
If you need any research done, Toc, I'm sure H will manfully test the brewers' wares.
Heyho, better get some w*rk done.

Really? I find I just like to stare at them. The leaf shape is so unusual ... very primitive, you know, much older than most trees. More like ferns, really. They had one in the garden of the hotel we went to for our honeymoon. They had a turkey oak too....

Ginkos are lovely trees as you say Pattern Chaser. There was a huge one at Heligan gardens down in the area known as the jungle - a long valley with three ponds and some huge tree ferns. It really did look like primeval jungle!
Lil I'm guessing lens flare for the green thing. Did you have any filters on the lens or a dust spot on the outer (or inner) surfaces.
If you want detail in the moon then very short exposures are needed (and a long lens). If you want detail on the ground, very long exposures are needed.

Synchronicity? Having earlier talked here about ginko trees, I just had to go and meet a new business contact. In their car park, among the other recently-planted saplings, is a ginko. It'll be quite impressive in thirty years or so.

When we went to Heligan in Feb it was too windy to venture too far so we didn't see the ginko, but I know I have seen one recently, Wisley I expect.
I don't know if we shall get to Heligan this time as I want to go to Lanhydrock and Cotehele houses and H wants to go back to the Eden Project. If the weather improves it would be nice just to sit on the beach too. As well as further our acquaintance with Looe's excellent restaurants.
