What an extraordinary photograph! And what serendipity for the photographer.
*grump* I asked the maidbots to spray for listleeches, but 10 items have managed to attach themselves to my list already.

I grasped the nettle by the horns and presented my case for the revision of the assessment requirements and it all went well. I've been allowed to post new, more balanced notes and the students aren't going to be forced to adopt a rigid methodology for their coursework. I'm very pleased.
Then I held a tutorial, which went as expected until the last minute when the student asked if she could ask a question. She asked me where I get my hair cut . Students, eh?

A book that had managed to get lost on its way from a certain online book supplier turned up today too. Are we *sure* Freddy is retrograde?
For the record, the book is Science, Culture and Society by Mark Erickson.

Well, if the book was lost before Freddy went retrograde, then retrograding would have reversed its situation and un-lost it? I did get my job when Freddy was last prancing backwards, after being unable to get it during usual service because of communication whatevers.
But an expert can explain.
I have put two posts up on the blog, neither of which went quite where I wanted them to go, but really, if I spend the time my inner shrieker wishes me to spend on polishing, I's never get even so much as a grocery-list written. So there. I am now going to put the URL on my space, in a quiet corner somewhere.

I'm feeling rather good about the test I just took. Not too good though, don't want to jinx myself.

Why is it that things that look fine in the evening when you're tired and wanting to get through for the day always look unacceptable in the morning? There is a horrible place around the light over my sink that will have to be remudded, sanded and repainted. This project is going to go on forever, apparently.
Bearded Cousin said he would be here at 9. He still isn't here. Yesterday he was going to come at 9 and didn't show up until after 1. And he insists on using military time. Granted, it makes sense, but I'm not used to it and until they make clocks with 24 hour faces, I'm sticking to good old am and pm.
Good news, Amy. I'm glad things are working out better.
That photo is amazing. I can see why it won.

Very pic!
Glad you've found the bottle to post your blog Ag. Erm, can you (or anyone else) explain what blogs are for? You hear about them on the telly all the time (apparently they are the way of the future) but I don't really *get* them. How do people find and read them - is there a central blog index somewhere?

i find that this very forum is rather blogish, in that it accomplishes quite a lot that a collective blog would do, minus the calling cards that is.
namely, people talk of what is of interest to them, what they have done during the day or are about to do, what's in the current news, etc. and then other people read that and comment/add on it if they so wish.

with the test GDZ!
I have applied for my job next year. For all it's faults it's quite nice and time saving being able to apply for 20 jobs using one application form. I find out which one I get some time on the 28th of March. When I'll be pacing Seville searching for an internet cafe.

Or hanging around in airports, looking for internet access, Z
Have you any preference about which job you get?
Freddie has certainly been making a real mess of my efforts over the last week to speak to Amy and Sol about photos.
Because of the problems with the conversation lists, my postings just aren't showing up on people's PSs.

I think blogs can be used for a multitude of things. Professionally, some use them almost as newsletters - I follow a handful of marketing ones and a couple of webdesign ones, the latter more for my own personal satisfaction. I mean - I don't do layouting of any sort professionally these days (but you never know, says the wee voice).
The pictures I publish, I publish via a blog. I have an ambition well hidden somewhere to combine my love for photography (did you know, for instance, that I had my first three photos in a public exhibition when I was fourteen, mere years ago ? Getting them published on a blog is so much easier...) with my love of putting words together in small essays.
Trods off to see where Ag put her URL...
[Department of notes: I missed a space when I first wrote the first sentence. So it had the word 'amultitude'. Amultitude. I don't know what it might be - an family with amoral? Amusement? Whatever - I just think it looked like something that just missed getting on the list of real words when Bob finished the list on the 9th day...]

The most successful blogs appear to have been found by word of mouth.
Freddy is certainly making itself felt on the beebbity beebing servers.

Well done, told you we could work with retrograde Freddie.
and those are the sort of questions educators truly love!
Me: So do you have any questions?
ESL student: Do you have a girlfriend?
Me: Questions about the lesson, about the present perfect tense.
ESL Student: How long have you been having a girlfriend?
Me: Close, get it right and I might even answer.
Hyp, Surely using 'military time' but not being punctual to military standards is a 'very bad thing'. Immediate discharge Without pay.
Santra, I'm sure that I was just reading about a competition to invent new words by adding a new letter? I just can't find it anywhere.

Perhaps I should point out that aforementioned ESL student was male.

I use the 24 hour time format for consistancy and clarity when writing notes in my cases. I also own a watch with a 24 hour dial. There are plenty of clocks with a 24 hour dial out there.
Key: Complain about this post
