Great scribing, Ben
Have just had an e-mail from my son
He's having a great time and is, in his own words, no longer Fatty Mc Fatterson - having been trekking in the mountains of southern Chile for the last month.
He's also shaved his head - so I hope he's got it well clarted with Factor Anorak sun-screen.

Good scribing indeed, Ben
Even in the midst of the sadness listing - it hasn't really been a too good period for relatives of various species for Salonistas, has it? - I had to have a small
over listing Danish embassies among the relatives.
Must now go do cooking!

Nice scribing, Ben.
One thing about having such a rocky start to the year - it almost has to get better.

*Struggles out of the blankets long enough to hand FG a carefully sterilised parcel, tied with scarlet ribbons. Inside are the by now mandatory hand-knitted socks, shading from pale eggshell blue at the toes to rich deep midsummer midday sky blue on the legs, and dappled with white clouds so realistic they almost seem to drift*
Happy Birthday FG.
Ooh, cake...
Ben, excellent scribing, and indeed, thank you for the wee kick up the backside. I have spent the afternoon very very slowly and ineptly fiddling with said blog, which now has one (1) entry, very short. But I am writing tomorrow's entry too and feeling all confident. *cough cough argh* At some point I may even tell you guys the address.
It is COLD. Obviously, nowhere near as truly really cold as the cold those Salonistas with proper weather experience regularly, but for this mild little corner of the planet, it is truly brass monkeys and my feet have gone blue. Despite the fluffy slipper-socks and the central (hah!) heating. (Well, one bedroom window and one living-room wall are quite warm, thankyou, but the CENTRE of any given room ISN'T).

Lil, thank you so much for the quill pen, the stand is particularly splendid and I will keep it with me to remind me of home.
It is far more than I deserve, since the greatness of the scribing is down to you. All I gave her was a series of lists
Valentine's day either ended up on the wrong list, or was on the right one because - for single people - the dilemma is whether to ignore the female halves of what Bridget Jones calls "the smug marrieds" or to steal their flowers and pretend no knowledge of who did so.

As you very well know, Marv, if you count the candles on Matina's coconut cake you'll find 35 of them. Smartypants.
Ooooh! Lovely socks!
