Minute-taking is a nightmare unless the chairman has a firm grip on the meeting.
We're in the final countdown here for No3s departure to Chile. Just the travellers cheques and cash to collect from the bank.
We may have an interesting time fitting his enormous rucksack into the back of my wee car.
Hope leg and dog are both feeling better today, Kelli

Drive-throughs - as far as I know, the ony drive-through thing we have in Stockholm is McD - but then I don't own a car, so I might be wrong. We don't have any drive-ins.
Mailboxes are usually placed against a wall, so you'll have to get out of your car and walk across the pavement to get to it.
The whole idea about paying your electricity and water bills with cash or cheque to a real person rather than via bank transfer or the Internet seems a bit odd to me - not to say a bit old-fashioned… Not even my mother pays by cheque or cash despite being a firm sceptic of credit/debit cards.
for Z and Scandrea
The weather has been ranging from +7ºC (45ºF) last week, with water puddles freezing to ice during the nights, to more snow and dropping temperatures during the weekend - and this morning it was -12ºC (10ºF) when I left for w*rk - how's that for climate changes? More snow predicted this afternoon...

Could you just dispense with the spinner and declare yourself evil anyway? I know I would.
*More s for Z*
I have to say that I'm awed by the irony which has various Muslim groups protesting against a cartoon which implies an ironclad link between Islam and terrorism by committing acts of terrorism.
<>
I'd see that as an act of revenge on the people who think 'motorway' and 'race track' are synonymous (Cf. Wishing to Be Evil By Default, above)
L says thanks for all the condolences.
It's so easy when you're evil
This is the life, you see
The Devil tips his hat to me

Sounds like a peacefull way to go Z
That war on terror board came reminds me of another game I played in my youth - Nuclear War (along with the nuclear escalation expansion set ). Designed way back in '65 so right up there satarising the issue of the day - the cold war. It was a fun game to play, especially as you could take out other countires even before the game had really started (there were all sorts of propaganda and spying cards to get the other countries population to you). In the end of course there might be no winner as you'd all be blasted to the stars and back. I guess this means I have no problem with the war on terror game.

Glad it wasn't too traumatic, Z.
We won the rubgy! Take that sheep-shaggers, no grandslam for you this year.
Well done to your boys too, Mr. D- your old allies were not expecting that!

As an English person living in Wales, I'm keeping my head down. The 'sheep-sha**ers' have little sense of humour at the best of times - but even less when they've just lost the Rugby !!

Oh dear, what went wrong with the auld alliance, good game though. England look like they're on the way to building a squad for the World Cup.

Z- I have the strangest feeling that there will be more than one of those when my grandma's time comes.
Thanks Titania- she's doing better now, but she will never be able to live on her own again. My dad's looking into care centers. It sounds cruel, but we can't give her pain medicine, we're a half hour drive away from the nearest doctor, we can't insert an IV, we can't lift her out of bed... we really can't give her the care she needs and deserves.
GDZ- great game. We got the one for the thumb!

You're absolutely correct about the wooly bachs being touchy when it comes to rugby. I remember being in Llangollen with some Scottish friends who were wearing Grand Slam sweaters, a long time ago mind, and the locals taking offence. Bah

Rainbow's Tears Posted Feb 6, 2006
It is difficult to describe just how obsessed the Wooly Bachs are with Rugby. On Saturday every other car was flying a Welsh flag and and the streets everywhere were filled with red shirts straining from the pressure of the beer bellies beneath Come kick-off the shops were empty as an entire nation was glued to the television. Later that evening the pubs were heaving - win or lose, they were still going to get pi**ed
After the match, the local radio stations had lengthy post-mortems on the death of their Grand Slam hopes, but whichever way they looked at it, they just couldn't get away from the fact that they were THRASHED !!

I have a Welsh colleague who is terribly patriotic, anti-Union and what have you (if England's so bad, why is she living here?). She always crows whenever Wales beat England at anything, but gets very touchy if anyone tries the opposite with her. Having a mixture of English, Scots and Welsh blood, I tend to support whoever I feel like. Or more likely no-one.

We didn't get even one snowflake or one drop of rain.
I just heard fron the HVAC guy. There may be a way to get the boiler going today without replacing the igniter module. Now I get to go sit in a freezing building and wait for him to show up.
Scandrea, you and your family are in my thoughts.
Marv, I'm glad you got back to NC safely. Z, at least your grandfather's arrangements will give the family something to chat about for years to come. also for L. And a
for Teuchter and No.3. I hope he has a really good experience in Chile.
Lil, my board is very lax about following the rules. They chat about whatever pops into their heads whether it is on the agenda or not. And are greatly miffed if anyone (meaning me) tries to stop them.

Afternoon all
for all those with ailing relatives.
Lil, I was trying to remember if your last paycheck ever arrived - perhaps you should add an extraordinary motion to the minutes?
*Pictures Teuchter tearfully waving off No3* - he'll have a great time and be back with you before you know it.
Leg got better and is now getting worse again, Dog is going to the vet later for stitches, other than that, everything is ok
