Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted May 23, 2002
Good morning!
*clambers back out of the bundt tin clutching the dragonFLYbot*
A message from the kidnappers? Has anyone analysed the recording for clues?

*Munchkin, clad in knee high, sturdy boots, a light cotton suit, slouch hat, with a period rifle leaning on a period knapsack at his feet and standing rather stiffly (Its these spine pads, dashed uncomfortable but have to keep the sun off) waves his in the general direction of the hologram*
You know, if they want us to leave, would it be best for a group to stay here, to ensure there is no funny business while the rest of us take on these ruffians?
Going to have to create a thread for this hunt soon. Oh, and glad to hear your Dad is okay Caer and I saw AOTC for a second time last night and still like it, which makes me feel better

Congratulations Sol. Is 12.10 the time? Or are they making you wait until 12 Oct for something? Surely not Dec 10 (although that is a very good day)?
/* Hands stapler to Odra */
Wow! I get to have real weapon this time! Thanks! What was that Lil said about apes? Could they be holding her in the Aroma Café? Could they have kidnapped Ook too?

Maybe Lil was referring to the 500 apes. Could some of them possibly be involved?
Why do those kidnappers want us out here? What could they want with the atelier?
Too many questions!

Congrats on the wedding Sol!
Should we take some bananas to distract the apes? I wonder if they are holding Lil on Gibraltar, there are lots of apes on the Rock.
*admires Munchkin's periods outfit*
Have you been watching the Ewardian Country House, Munchkin?

*shakes his head and then looks wistfully over at the Munchkin* Apart from that gael accent, mister, you sure do remind me of my old employer. *removes his hat* He got killt in 78. Don't suppose you ever met Lord Tunstall, did you?
*replaces his hat* My horses are right outside. But I reckon we should wait for the Pinkerton man to come back and tell us which way to go, que? *unholsters one of his 44s and begins to clean it*

*wakes up from the couch and reaches up to touch his singed eyebrows*
Has Odra been cooking again?
*puts down his bowl of popcorn*
It sounds like lil has been captured by slum lords who resort to scare tactics. If we're supposed to be out of this building does that mean that they've already contacted GL & Afgan seperateliy?
*refuses to leave after having cleaned out the pig hole that was Washington Irving's room*

*Runs over to examine the new note.*
Hmmmmm. Looks like cherry jello this time, but we'll need to wait for a complete analysis to be sure.
*Looks over at DF.*
No, we haven't been contacted separately. And hopefully we'll free Lil before having to evacuate. Although it might be fun to see how much luck those desperados have getting into the restricted areas even if we aren't there.
The ape comment is a good clue, though. Lil could have been referring to the 500 apes, or she could have been referring to the apes we encountered on a safari that we took through a wormhole to a future h2g2. How they would get here, I don't know, though. So it's probably the 500 apes. Giant apes, that is.
Perhaps we should start by finding them. I think they were last seen deep in Moxon Wood.

If it's apes we're after, I'll leave my nanogun on sliced bananas.
*Considers whether she needs to change her costume, decides the jeans, polo shirt and sneakers she is wearing will be just fine.*

Can't say I have heard of Lord Tunstall, but I don't often get out to the colonies. So, giant apes you say? Have you been reading too much Alan Quartermain type stuff by any chance?

It's a pity Lil isn't here. I could do with a sage - Lucinda has been rude to me here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/F24276?thread=185406. And I was only trying to help the lad. :-(
