Mike has my hand-me-down laptop, a toshiba; I'll have to get him to test-drive a british DVD and let me know if it runs.
Oh, I envy you lot, all meeting this weekend!

I'm not big on the anime scene, I'll admit, though from what I gather we are indeed somewhat lacking in such content in this country.
Lil, at least you can't envy me for my name badge. This is really not working. I had a really neat graphic done, but couldn't print it out in colour. It's no /so/ bad in greyscale, but not nearly as good.

Currently, not planning a name badge nor preparing for the Nodnol meet, but instead considering how to get computer access on Monday lunchtime to see DNA (really cool features BTW).

i'm aware of the R2 deal. however, let's just say that we haff vays ov making ze DVD play...
in other words, i tinkered with my software, so now i have multi-region functionality.
my original offer still stands.... i would buy it myself but they won't ship it to the US.

"Shebangs" is Scottish?
I've read that some of the DVD-ROM drives are software controlled, as you mentioned Marv, and that's what I have. Just reinstall the software and it's all better. Then there are some where the region is set in the firmware and there is software to "fix" those, like sea has. But some, and this is truly evil, update the region in firmware that can be reset only 5 times, then it locks and you are stuck with the region that you had it set to the 5th time.

have fun at the meet, guys! give everyone s from me!
oh! in other Shocking Developments in the Life of Sea, my cousin apparently finds me attractive, and would have asked me out long ago had it not been illegal and incestuous.

Hi to everybody at the meet!
My house is about to fall apart. The snowstorm hit us last night. I have no electricity at my home and the roof will fly away soon if the wind doesn't slow down. Luckily enough I have to work today.

s Hatfinat. I think the weather system that passed through here during last night is also headed your way. It isn't going to improve matters
.
I'm going shopping in York today. While I'm there I'm going to see Mulholland Drive at the art house cinema. I think it's been deemed too inta-leck-chewall for the denizens of Leeds - non of the cinemas here are planning to show it.

It isn't any comfort.
I'll spend my day shoveling, I'm afraid.
But hey! my kids can go sledging today!

Chris Tonks Posted Jan 26, 2002
Sorry to hear about that, Hatifnat. Good luck shoveling.
Sea, I shall consider your offer. It merely depends on how you're going to get the money to me.
Uh, my dad's had a look at the weather, and has decided not to drive me to the meet. So I'm having to drag my old last-minute organisational skills out of the cupboard and test them to their fullest on the train timetables.
