I had one inch of snow yesterday! smiley - smiley It snowed most of the morning, but it then spent the afternoon raining and melting smiley - sadface.

Morning all. Expected high 30 Celsius. I expect I will spend most of the day sweating and melting smiley - winkeye

Gmorning y'all, don't expect much LED buildup with so many salonistas at the meet. Looney, 30C is too hot.

I accidentally fired off a post to the OTD list about a virus, and have had to retract it. There is a virus which MAY arrive disguised as the file sulfnbk.exe, but, assuming you have up-to-date antivirus software, you would already know about it. I got a hoax message and panicked when I found a perfectly legitimate Win executable sitting in my command directory. And it was legitimate as well, and now I shall have to restore it at some point.

It's not a very important file. All it does is enable using long file names in some applications.

This hoax was first sighted quite a while ago: I didn't realise it was still going round. My favourite hoax IMHO was the Aol-virus one, really good smiley - laugh.

The shoveling is done. smiley - smiley
We drived to the seaside today, the weather was fine in the afternoon. That was extremely beautiful, kids were very excited too. We saw a roe and about 30 swans. The old jetty made of boulders was all covered with ice (remember the storm last night) and small bushes and straws were all under 1-2 cm of ice. Winter-wonderland. The storm had broken a lot of trees here and there but luckily enough only one of them had fallen on the road.
A prefect day. smiley - biggrin

Good ol' Virus hoaxes. I've gotten some of those. Panicked and sent a few warnings about them on as well. smiley - winkeye

I am so. Darn. Bored. RL is providing very little for me to do. Sure I could do my homework, or maybe even practice my solo for next week's Solo & Ensemble Competition, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

I'm gonna go downstairs and invent something, everyone. Maybe dentures for Vampires, or maybe I can design another member of the CLI Shakespearian Action Figure Collection. Oh, you know, CLI hasn't developed a decent Jekyll & Hyde type of potion yet,....no need to up 'till now.

No, won't work. I won't stop being bored until I can break a law of physics.

*Sighs and begins rapidly pacing on the veranda. Pulls out a scrap of paper, and begins writing various nonsense equations on it*

a=b
a^2=ab
a^2-b^2=ab-b^2
(a+b)*(a-b)=b(a-b)
a+b=b
b+b=b
2b=b
2=1

n=0.999...
10n=9.999...
10n-n=9.999...-0.999...
9n=9
n=1
1=0.999...

*He keeps pacing and writing, pacing and writing, pacing and writing....will probably continue doing this until his next posting*

sea, don't you get to file a 1040-EZ? The one page form with only 10 fill-in-the-blanks, and 1/3 of them things like "name", "street" and "city"?

*Affy listens, and ponders just what the noise could be*

Could be an overload of power. Most of CLI's power is geothermal or solar, unless you count the reactor core. If there's been increased volcanic or seismic activity lately, it could cause a power surge.

I'd better go check it out,....

Afgncaap5

*Heads back upstairs* Well, it's definitely an overload. I'll have to replace a single gear that is located unnervingly close to a large lake of molten lava, that lies past one of the most difficult to navigate mazes of tunnels, storage rooms, and out-of-use laboratories that we have to offer down there. And, of course, the computer has lost all control of that area, meaning that there is probably an unheard of number of dangerous experiments lurking down there. It represents a terrifying threat to life and limb, and I could very easily die a horrifying, gruesome death in the process. Oh, and if anyone wants to come along, it's at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F32669?thread=163120

*At first, Witty thinks that this maintenance call sounds way too dangerous. Then she recalls that only Gl and Affy really know what the inner sanctum of CLI really contains. Since she's never been past the lobby, she lets her curiosity get the better of her.*

All right, Affy. I'll help. But first I'll stop back at My Space and pick up a few things that might come in handy.

*She presses a button on the device on her wrist that the Prof. gave her as a souvenir of one of his trips. It allows her to be in 2 places at once. So while she never leaves the Atelier, she also appears in the appropriate CLI forum.*

There are import shops all around the US. You could always order direct from them. But then again, I've ordered from amazon dot co dot uk and they have sent things to me, so perhaps if you just go there ?
