Wonders what the rest of the world makes of the Sarf Lunun accent, especially since it has gained influences from the Caribbean and Asia over the last fifty years.
BTW
for those that can't guess Sarf Lunun = South London in posh speak

*climbs out of the Kleenex box and sits on the edge of the coffee table looking confused but still vaguely alive*
*removes notepad and pencil from the inside pocket of her grey pyjamas (the one's that match the colour of her skin so well)*
I'm told I had quite a nice English accent... before I lost my voice, that is. But now I will have to write down everything I want to say .

*Believes himself to have the best English accent because of his incessant use of old-style vocabulary (see: 'what ho' and 'toodlepip'). Immitates both Peter Jones' reading style and Bertie Wooster's speaking style. *

*floating in*
Bumblebee is on Rhodes claiming to be on vacation, but I suspect she's travelled there to do some additional research on her entry 'The Colossus of Rhodes' - I think she'll be gone another week...
*blows her nose sounding like an blowing a *

Matina, an Irish Coffee, please...

Well the party was a blast but I am feeling it well today. Pardon while I go soak my head.

*wishes that she had a lovely accent, but is cursed with the mid-Western bland for the most part. agrees with sea on the attractiveness of Scottish accents though... maybe its just my ancestry peeking through. *
Sorry to hear that you've lost your voice, Amy.
Sorry to hear that your nose is running, T.
Glad to hear your party went so well, Marv.

Besides, he'd know what that was, BB. What we need to do is find something that makes loud noises at random intervals and isn't easily trackable.

Hey Lil! I'm a Canadian and I say about "ah-bowt", not "aboat".
Most of the time, I can't hear any difference between American and Canadian accents. The exceptions are the distinctive accents: Boston, New York, Southern, Newfoundland.

Hmm
Making loud noises at random intervals and not easily trackable.....
I think we are in the perfect place, CLI downstairs seem to cause such things anyway

We want to torment Marv in his post-Birthday Party bliss. We were thinking loud noises at random intervals and his not being able to trace the source. What say you?

*There's a loud crash from downstairs.*
You mean like that?
Oh! Wait a minute.
*GL runs down the stairs and returns a few minutes later with something that looks like a football helmet that lost a battle with a porcupine. He takes it over to Marv.*
Here, put this on. It's for your hangover.
*GL walks back to G7 and BB and sits down*
Here, it's the remote control for the helmet. Each button produces a different sound in the helmet and these dials determine the direction and distance the sound will seem to come from. Volume control is at the bottom here. Who wants a first go?

Thanks to all who toasted the memory of Bryan...Spiny, the 18 year old Glenlivet was particularly appropriate, since it was Bryan who introduced me to the joys of single malt scotches! he was a good friend, a wild dancer, and could sell ice to eskimos. But more than anything, I will remember him telling me that if I wanted a man, I had to be woman enough to go and get him. And then he laughed and told me that a woman with my hair, and my temper, would be more than most men could handle.
But, as it were, I am planning on living life to its fullest...anyone for bungee jumping off the eiffel tower?!

I KNEW there was something in the backlog that I wanted to comment on.
Sorry to hear about Bryan, MR. If it's not too late, I'll raise a to him too.

Sea, what do you say we do it off that bridge in Colorado (G7, help me on the name?!) when we go there in the spring? I mean, why not. Other than I would be deathly afraid, I suppose. But hey. At least its not an airplane. I think jumping out of a plane would be great fun, but I can't get past my fear of flying!
