*Lil slowly ascends stairs into atelier. There is a dark smudge on one cheek, her hands are filthy and her hair looks as if she's been standing in a strong variable wind*
Good morning everyone... *heading for kitchen to wash hands* Sorry to be away so long, but Affi has several things running downstairs and I had to hang about and observe for a while, wait for one of them to... grow intense. And it tried to protect itself.
Re-cycling a paper isn't plagiarism, but there's probably a limited number of times you can fall back on that option. Everybody got their taxes done?
Hey, Matina has baked mbougatses! The Lenten fast is over!

Mbougatses! Hooray! *hurries to grab one for herself, and one for Springie*
These won't make her over-active, will they?

*GL steps in, and is about to leave a [GL] due to needing to do some RL work, but notices the smell of fresh baking and hesitates. An insistent tapping begins on the window. GL walks to the window and pulls back the curtains. His mouth drops open in surprise. When he regains his wits, he pulls down the upper sash and a large bird flys in and makes a bee-line to the Mbougatses. After stuffing two in its beak, the parrot turns and speaks to GL (accompanied by flying crumbs).*
Pierrot: Aaaaawwwwwk, about time, dog breath.

*Mindspring has meanwhile taken a bite of one of Titania's mbougatses and is now sitting up and looking suspiciously perky*
Hi GL, Titania! *waves to WM* Did y'all have a good Easter? Did you do the chocolates and eggs thing for Natalie, GL?
31Xth Conversation at Lil's
Garius Lupus Posted Apr 16, 2001
Actually, we didn't, Lil - chocolate makes Natalie ill these days, so we had to find non-candy gifts for her. It's amazing how much candy figures in Easter celebrations, but we managed just fine without it.
We tried to drive to my parents house - about 2 hours away - but had to turn back half-way after stopping for the second time for Natalie to be sick. She used to get car sick, but hasn't for quite a while, so we hadn't given her any gravol. Gill (my wife) was feeling ill the next day, along with Natalie, so we think it might have been something else rather than car sickness. Anyway, we missed the Easter dinner at my parents, but they were very kind and came to visit us instead.
Got to spend lots of time in the garden
Oh! I forgot to mention it, but our house sold! It's still conditional on them getting finanacing, but hopefully that won't be a problem. We've also secured the apartment that we want and we have about a week between when we get the apartment and when the house deal closes, so we can paint the apartment when it is empty and move somewhat more leisurely. We get the apartment July 1st (or possibly a bit earlier) and the house deal closes July 6th.

Ah...chocolate eggs...
Eating one right as we speak. Cadbury's...yum...
*Aside:* I'm aloud to say that name aren't I?
Oh boy, sunny day over here. I'm surprised I didn't have to cut the lawn: my dad did it. He /must/ be going mad now!
One week left of the hols, and then back to work. Grr, revision papers galore!

Ah back again.
Having visited both my sister and my parents over the long weekend. Had to go and see the sister as I'd forgotten to get her little one a birthday present (oops). Then it was over to the parents for the rest of the long weekend. Ended up watching a video of some old cine films that my mum transfered. Lots of short clips of me and the sisters when little and my mum and dad in younger days.

Hullo, one and all! Hope the holiday weekend treated everyone well! (With the sad exception of your wife and daughter, GL. I'm very sorry to hear that they were sick. )
Lil, I shared Dr Kareem's site with many people and they all laughed just as hard as you and I did. Although, E is now threatening to make a "H*ll's Wh*r*house" room. I've put my foot down, so we should be safe enough from that.
Eatsmice, I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
Red, I've recycled more papers than I care to think of, so I see no problem with it.
Affy, I hope you get home soon. Although, the beach does look lovely and warm!
Lil, thanks for saving us all.
Sea, what play are you doing?
Matina, a tea please.
Whew!

I'll have some tea, too. *watches as Mindspring trots out on to the veranda and begins to practise a few tap-dancing steps*
Gosh, Garius, congratulations! Once you get the itch to move, it's good to see things get accomplished, eh? Listen, you better check downstairs and make sure I didn't upset anything while I was downstairs, or turn the experiment too much the wrong way or anything. A couple of the securibots were a bit apprehensive, I think...
I did a few constructive things over Easter -- started work on a commission, a badly damaged photo from 1905, and began swimming in the pool. I really didn't think I would get the pool clean again, and once the water was clear and the pump running freely, I was a little worried if the water was fit to drop one's body in, but it seems to be fine. At least, my bathing costume didn't change colour or melt...

Morning all (Tuesday) Nice to see a happy little bunch of Easter survivors gathered at the Atelier.
My liver survived combining the holiday with visitors.
It's a miracle.

*after reading backlog, sea hopes that GL's wife and daughter (wow, GL's married with kids?!?! ) are all right*
gw7en, we're doing "A Chorus Line". If you've never heard of it, it's a Broadway musical about people trying out for a Broadway musical.

Arghhhhh!! I am listening to a playoff hockey game right now. It is not televised at all Why do they torture me so? I know that Ice Hockey is not all that popular outside of North America (And yes I know that Europe nations have hockey programs just that they are different) but I was wondering what sports are popular to the denzeins of the Atelier. For the record I am a hockey fan and a former Nascar pit crew member and Nascar fan (well any motor sport really but Nascar mostly). I despise football (american I like the real Football that you get to watch in the UK, NZ etc.) baseball and basketball. Golf bores me but I do watch figureskating and other winter sports (skiiing curling etc.). Tennis is much like golf and fishing is a pastime not a sport.

Marv, here in Kiwiland the NHL Playoffs, conference quarter finals, game 3, was broadcast live this afternoon. Alas, I never watched it so I don't know which teams were playing. Game 4 is broadcast live tomorrow.
Fishing, hunting and horse-racing - the sport of kings - are sports. All the others are games. Pastimes include chess, cards etc.

I use fishing to waste time so it equals a pastime to me. Horse racing bores me as well, I cannot tell one horse from another.

I find it quite easy to tell the difference between the black and brown horses.
Do you want me to give you, via ICQ, an instant highlights service during tomorrow's hockey match?
