What can I say? I'm very, very sorry that this post was removed, the moderator had absolutely no idea of the significance of the posting.
The reason the post disappeared for a while is that it was referred to me overnight, and was thus hidden. The post was referred because the moderator had been advised that people weren't allowed to post information about someone else that could lead to the other person being identified, without their permission. The moderator saw the post *out of the context of the conversation*, and questioned whether sufficient information was being given to identify the individual described. I checked the referred moderation decisions first thing this morning from home, didn't find a problem with it and put it back up again, only to come in to work, where I was alerted to the problem caused by the moderation by an email from Lil and Amy the Ant.
I'm of course really upset that Lil was further upset by this happening. The moderator had no idea of the significance of their action. I can only apologise on behalf of the moderator, and offer my condolences to Lil.
I'm so sorry.

I think I can safely say "Thank-you", Peta, for personally looking into this, I am sure Lil will be grateful for the explanation. Also thank-you for taking the time to post the information here, as I think everyone was concerned over the moderation of what seemed to be an innocent post. We all talk quite freely here, as I am sure you are aware, and it is alarming when something we post gets moderated for no apparent reason. But enough of that. This is neither the time or the place.
I am sure we would all love to see you here more often, if your busy schedule permits it
Thanks.

Bless you, Peta, having to front that merry band of cens...clerks. I'm sure the one I anathematised won't mind that their fingers turned into snakes during the night until the post went back up.
You're welcome here anytime, as Babel said, and I must say you do look fetching in that beret!
Londoners, any of you familiar with an All Saints church in Shepherds Bush? That's where the funeral is going to be next week. I don't have a current passport -- just hadn't got round to it -- so I'll not be attending either the funeral or the meorial service that's to be held later, in Birmingham. I found out that Fred's company had also been doing work for the BBC, and wondered this morning whether that had been why the post was yanked.
Ah well, let's move on. I want to hear from the Professor what he was doing in Switzerland for six years. And I'd like some fresh tea and a hot cross bun please, Matina...

*brings in a Goldfish plant - a lovely dark green with golden flowers similar to morning lillies - for Lil*
I hope you enjoy it. I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it to London, but I'm sure that you can commemmorate Fred's life in some more personal way at home. It'll mean as much to him, and possibly more to you.
Peta, I'd like to add my thanks to B17 and Lil's. I was unfortunately not on line during the excitement, but it is very comforting to know that you are keeping an eye out for our well-being, so to speak.
Phil, I'm glad to hear that the initial interview went well. That's great!
Matina, come tea and a please. I need the sugar content today.

Sorry Lil but I can't find any mention of an all saints church and shepherds bush on any of the websites I know to look at
Thanks for the encouragement about the interview today. I think it went well and feedback from my friends boyfriend (the one who works in this job already) seems quite good.

Sounds very promising, Phil. Hope you get it (or at least get the chance to turn it down, if that's your eventual wish ).
And add my thanks, too, Peta. I saw the post while catching up on backlog and had to go back to see what might have been wrong with it. I couldn't see any problem and would have been emailing you too.
Munchkin - I have been to Banff, too, and would agree with you on the beauty of Lake Louise. What stunned me was the particular blue of the lake. It's a vibrant turquoise colour that I had never seen in water before. The lake is fed by glacier runoff, apparently. The CPR hotel itself is a beautiful piece of architecture and actually adds to the natural beauty of the place.
As for underwater beauty, I haven't been to the places already mentioned, but I have been to Cozumel for a full week of diving. The reefs and fish were amazing, in an unbelievable range of colours and shapes. Highlights were seeing several moray eels, a huge manta ray (about 6' across), a nurse shark (supposedly harmless) that was resting motionless under some overhanging coral (I thought they had to keep moving to drive water over their gills) and a swim with a school of baracuda. Oh, and the best lobster dinner I have had either before or since.
Oh, and if anyone wants me to send them a moderator voodoo doll, just send me your email address to [email protected].

Blue lakes, Glaslyn - literally Blue Lake in Cymraeg - on the E side of Yr Wyddfa is a small lake which is always blue. No glaciers feeding this one though it's all to do with the copper deposits which used to be mined from the mountain.
I'll post a couple of link to pictures over on ezboard.

Just so you know Peta, I think that we all still enjoy our time on the Guide but there are too many examples of the aforementioned moderation. I know that you and the original Towers staff are not responsible for the new rules and T&C but most people do not know who to go to regarding problems with moderation. I do hope that it all gets sorted out sonner rather than later. Lil, I feel remiss in not offering my sympathies earlier. 33, I hope you have a good interview.
Meeting time for Marv.

Latest news is that I'm well in there as they sometimes say round these parts. Still need to see the main London manager to see if he likes me or not.
Marv, the job description I was given you'd love, full of manglementese Took about a while to work out just what was going on (big companies love buzzwords for some reason).

Hallo Researcher 17 something something, I recognize that name! Matina, bring the Unchristened One a coffee and a hot cross bun. Where've you been?
Hey Garius, I've been culling stuff out of the kitchen! Hey, do I need 3 sets of salt and pepper shakers? What about these stainless steel hors d'ouevres trays that I completely forget I had cos I stuffed them in the back of the cabinet on account of they were so ugly? Ah, it will soon be garage sale time. Cookie tins! Hm, I might need these if mice are a problem. 5 little glass dessert dishes from the 50's (should be six)...
Thing is, you can't really see any difference when you look aorund the kitchen. All the stuff I've hauled out so far has been mouldering behind doors and drawer fronts.

Once you have freed space in he cupboards you can then relocate everything that is cluttering the open space. I am still unpacking and sorting trash that I moved with me in January.
Heh, I get to work today to find my bronze award (given based on customer survey responces) that I earned three months ago. I love speedy intracompany communication.

And now you have something else to find a home for, Marv.
Seriously, congrats. You deserve the award, considering all that you do for them.
Lil, I agree with Marv. Cleaning almost always ends up just as the opportunity to hide new stuff for me.

Congratulations Marv (at last!)!
It's true. I have bare shelves behind some cupboard doors. But there's one cupboard I just remembered this afternoon, in a corner of the sitting room. It's full of liquor bottles. Different kinds of scotch and bourbon and rye and vermouth and kahlua *wonders if she's straying into moderatorland* and stuff I never heard of. I need to give all that away to someone who drinks and has parties. It doesn't go off, does it? Some of it is 10 or 20 years old.

What ho!
*Bows from the waist down...*
I thank you, Peta, for your coming here to say a few words regarding the moderating. Much appreciated!
*Won't comment on hoqw the moderators could have thought the post "out of context".*
Congrats to Marv and 33 (Phil)!
Phil, I'm sure your next interview will go just fine as well, as casual clothing always makes one feel more relaxed.
And greetings to the Unchristened One! We have not met before, but I am pleased to meet you.
Matina, a cup of rose, strawberry and elderflower tea please, while I get over all the good news floating around today...
