Break Room
Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 5, 2005
*There's a screen on top of the jukebox that can show various locations from around the castle. Most of the lights are dark, but the ones that are lit have text by them saying things like "Shifting Room", "Break Room", "Hangar", "Casino", "Robot Rumble Arena", and the like. Each of these lights has a button next to it that will, in theory, activate the TV*

[Corrigible pushes the Robot Rumble Arena button. The screen goes blank, and "Death and Republic" from Gulty Gear begins playing]
[Corrigible] Huh?
[A red glowing eye appears as it hits a "DUNNNNNN ..."]
[Joseph] Er ...
[A blue-and-white armored face appears around it, framed by red hair as the music hits a "DADUUNNNNNN ...."]
[Corrigible] ... Justice?
[Joseph] Who?
[Closeup, in rapid succession (each time accompanied by a "DADUN!"), of an arm, a tail made of interlocking ... links, a pair of robotic feet, a shock of long red hair, an enormous set of shoulder armor, its chest, and back to the face, which has two vents, which set of steam (accompanied by a different set of music). The music then becomes more awesome as it shows various stylized bits of the robot as it starts up, and then hovers towards the arena.]
[Corrigible] [over all this] The end boss of the arcade game Guilty Gear. Yar must've built this guy.
[Joseph] Oh, great.

KL-Hmmmm....*Looks at it* Interesting. I hope it's up to par against the competition....why should it be so easy to construct anything?
Break Room
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 6, 2005
[Corrigible] Eh. It's Yar. If he didn't put together already-existing parts, he probably used outside help. Or maybe figured out how to give it the ability to cast Ultima. Or maybe he had an existing robot in a Poké Ball, or something. Or any combination of the above.
Break Room
Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 7, 2005
KL-That may be the case. But why are we, the intruders with the ability to bring such robots about, being given access to the materials required for doing thusly?
SLR-POPCORN!
Break Room
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 7, 2005
[Corrigible] Because the Humor demands it! ... I guess.
Break Room
Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 7, 2005
*KL rolls his eyes. SLR continues to sink deeper into the popcorn. Probably because the humor demands that as well*
Break Room
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 8, 2005
[Corrigible] ... Y'know what? That was a REALLY dumb line. I have no idea why Yar says it.
Break Room
Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 8, 2005
KL-I don't think it's a dumb line. I just refuse to acknowledge humor as a cosmic force. Unlike my current sidekick.
*Vaguely motions towards the popcorn bowl that SLR is, theoretically, inside*

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 8, 2005
[Corrigible] That's an even /better/ point.
[Joseph] Are we just gonna watch this fight, or can we go on to the next room, like, that nametag one?
[Corrigible] Say, is your last name "Rincewind" by any chance?
[Joseph] Uh, no. If it /was/, I'd be suggesting the possibility that offered the greatest chances in terms of running away.

Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 9, 2005
KL-If you people wish to face whatever lies behind door number three, I think that I will, instead, stay behind. These things are always easier the fewer characters I play in one conversation. But I'm not supposed to know that, so just attribute it to rudeness.

*Incidentally, the picture with this mysterious Name Tag Guy leads to F1881348?thread=562760 in the event that anyone decides to head that way for some reason*

[[Message: Team "Laguna/Woogy" has been defeated]]
[Joseph] WOOHOO! Uh, I mean ... [quickly regains composure] ... too bad. Hmm.
[Corrigible] ... Eh, looks like Yar's winning. He'll probably lose next round.
[He heads over to the nametag painting. Joseph shrugs, and follows.]

Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 10, 2005
[Joseph races back out again, a look of almost Rincewindian panic on his face.]

*Returns from the Robot Rumble Arena.*
I took a look at that map...
*Notices the jukebox.*
Huh! When did that happen?
*Looks at the screen.*
A rabbit? What does that have to do with anything on the painting?
Break Room
Dizzy H. Muffin Posted Jan 11, 2005
[Yar] [arriving] Dunno. But I got a message saying Laguna and Woogy bit it last time, by the way ...
[Yar is still holding the small device with which he'd been reading Justice's tension meter. He smirks, and pockets it]
[Yar] So, now where to?
Break Room
Scandrea Posted Jan 11, 2005
Maybe we can succeed where the Brothers Arfenhouse failed? What were they up against, anyway?
Break Room
Afgncaap5 Posted Jan 11, 2005
*Archimedes hops onto the jukebox, and changes its channel to the appropriate painting, and rewinds to the beginning of their fight. The entire filming of the battle begins to unfold*
Archimedes-Someone named Evolvo. He can alter his shape by evolving and devolving himself in various ways, it seems. He can be anything from hyper-charged telepath to primordial ooze based on what we've seen here.
