I don't know........I think it's more like U.S. college rivalries. No harm intended. It's more along the lines of poking friendly fun at each others' regional and cultural differences.
"Global Community" or not, those will always exist.....as they MUST! Without diversification of thoughts and ideas, civilization would atrophie. Our "Great Experiment" would collapse and we would revert to our instinctive tribal habits.
Given some time for thought....I believe I prefer the nationalistic joisting to the alternative.
