I haven't drunk either of them since I was about 17 so perhaps it was just my inexperienced taste that found them sweet and sickly!

I think you can get Calders special in selected pubs, they're few and far between tho.
I can't remember now who was looking for a fav drink, but when you find one let me know coz my favs keep changing. Was vodka Source for a while, then smirnoff ice, then original WKD and now I'm stuck between southern comfort and lemonade with ice (and a slice on the side) or blakc russians, depending on how drunk I fancy getting. Although its been so long since I had a drink, just breathing near drunk people gets me going!

I can't seem to extend my like of alcoholic drinks beyond alcopops which is quite annoying as you can't have a lads night out drinking alcopops

I've been told to try spirits, my mates intend to get me drunk on them. Can't stand cider or lager, not tried ale yet. Oh the fun of experimenting

I can't drink lager I've always drunk ale/bitter or stout when it comes to 'beer' used to drink gallons of cider when I was younger, then never had any for years, just recently I've begun having a little every now and then when I end up round a particular fi friends house who has cider in

HonestIago Posted Jan 27, 2005
I just don't understand why lager is so popular, it tastes like urine. My best mate is a real ale know-it-all so I'm waiting to see him to try that stuff out. And is off the menu until I've lost some weight

Cider... is that just fermented apple cider then?

HonestIago Posted Jan 27, 2005
Yeah, I like the apple taste, just not the fermented taste

In terms of cider, recently, whenever I've tried the brands on sale in pubs, normally stuff like Strongbow and the other main brands I can't remember the nmaes of; they are horrid, really nasty, but the one I had round the friends, actually turns out to be a 'cheap' cider, an I find it quite palatable Lager, I never knew why that grew so popular, whll, I partly do, it was because of the relaly awful real ale places were servign at the time when lager got popular, but I think a lot of pubs now are at least making an effort with the real ale, though Of the two nearest pubs to me, neither I'll drink real ale in, the next nearest three, one is entirely out of the question as it does not serve any real ale of any worth, the other, is intermetiantly drinkable, and the third is a non smoking pub so I won't go there. furhter out, the next two pubs are really great real ale pubs, each with five to ten real ales on at a time, and beyond that, there is a void of drinking establishments that serve anythign I want to drink, then aa couple of pubs that are half decent So I guess ther eis still a lot of variety in the quality of the real ale on offer, and I'm not that* pickky!
