Lello? Jello! Blame the typo monster!

[Link is looking out the window to the left]
[YK] Boy, things are going suspiciously great!
[Link] Oh, shavit!!
[YK] I wasn't aware that comment warranted profanity, Link. And a boy of your intelligence should never swear.
[He looks to the left and boggles]
[YK] Shavit is right!!
[A horriffic mechanical monster impervious to Snowzars and Polka Blasts flies into the system. It is the Krakken, and it heads straight towards the Mangar]

[YQ] Affy, now would be a GREAT time to use that "secret weapon" of yours.

Oh, boy. A space Krakken. In any event, the secret weapon belongs to GL. I really appreciate the sincerity in your not letting the climactic space battle be solved so easily, but this really ins't the time. Still, you said it was impervious to snowzars. You didn't mention the Sleetzars.
*Arms the sleetzars, and shoots the monster. The sleetzar fire bounces off of the monster and slams into several Mangol ships which instantly freeze, as the ships inside the ice begins to melt. Affy looks at the monster in shock. Then he slaps his head*
Oh, right. No one post solutions. Irv, how close do you think we could get the Mangar to some Rodentar or Mangol ships? This Krakken may decide that they present an easier target. Shields up as high as they can go...
*Remembers that the ship is still at 110%*
...never mind. Just keep firing at the enemy fleet while we attempt to outmaneuver the monster.

Garius Lupus Posted Oct 24, 2000
Yes, I think Affy is right - we should try evasive measures first before using the secret weapon, since the weapon will seriously draw down our power, leaving us vulnerable.
*Checks the scanners.*
Irv, there is a grouping of 5 Mangol/Rodentar ships in quadrant q3. If you can hop us into quadrant r2, that will put them between us and the Krakken and the Krakken should then do some of our work for us. We will also surprise the Raven by appearing on its opposite side. They may have concentrated their shield power on this side, so we may get in a few shots before they are able to shift it. I'll powerup the offside weapons now.

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 24, 2000
Yes, sir, whoever you are -- I assume Garius with a new name.
*Irv hits some buttons and the ship ends up in quadrant D2*
*Irv blushes*
Oops, sorry
*The Mangol jumps to quadrant R2*
Done.

*GL, under his temporary new name, fires several snowzar cannon shots at the Raven, followed by a particularly large polka gun blast. He waits to see if they hit before the Raven has reacted to the Mangars hop.*

[YK looks back into the lounge]
[YK] What in Bob's name are you doing!?
[Nerfal is setting up a hologram of "YC's Evasive Maneuvers" in the Aurabesh font. He quickly shuts it off]
[Nerfal] Er, nothing.
[YK] I thought you knew me well enough to know you can't lie to me.
[Nerfal] All right, I was going to sell a system that automatically initiates evasive maneuvers.
[YK] Under YC's name.
[Nerfal] Yeah. Er, this /is/ his ship.
[YK] And such a system would only work for YT-1300 Corellian light freighters that have been modified in exactly the same way this ship has.

*GL grins in satisfaction at the effect of the polka blast.*
I bet that got them hopping!

*Affy watches in satisfaction. So far, barely any power drainage, and the STUMPED/Rodentar/Mangol fleet is down to 5% of its original size. Affy fires a single lazer shot, hitting a weakened Rodentar ship, knocking out its maneuverability*
Save that ship for last. It'll still fire, but it won't be able to catch up with us.

It's a moot point now, but if we had one device that took an almost-depleted ship back to 110%, and another weapon which would almost deplete a ship, why the *hell* didn't we fire the weapon *before* using up our only shot at regenerating the ship?
Mission to Zork 4B: Mission to Rodentar
Afgncaap5 Posted Oct 25, 2000
Oh, Peet, don't you have any sense of what makes a climactic battle scene? This near-depletion of our power, followed by the final scene with either a near depleted Raven or a not quite as depleted space monster is the perfect thing to keep this at least *remotely* interesting once we get rid of the remaining...four point nine percent of the STUMPED/Rodentar/Mangol fleet. Besides, had we used this, it wouldn't have *near* depleted the ship. It would've pretty much obliterated us.

~The Raven suddently vanishes (oh come on, read back to the first Hangar 41 post, we all know it can cloak) Moments later, the Mangar is rocked as the sheild levels fall from 110 to 95%~
