*Continues digging, slowly revealing a metal chest, wrapped in chains with lots of padlocks. Changes to human form.*
Hmmmmm. Funny place to bury treasure. Are those skull-and-cross-bones painted on the sides?

Yeah,....maybe we've stumbled on some pirate treasure! Or, it's possibly the cause of our water difficulties. Maybe both. This stuff could be a bunch of cursed alien technology, sure to doom any who comes into contact with it in any way.
Let's open it!

*just a little bit concerned of Affy's first symptoms of 'dying of curiousity*
*decides he should probably be immune by now*
*shrugs*
*backs away from the chest, just in case*

[Protoman declines to comment on this reference to his little brother, a) because it wasn't actually said, and b) because that's probably not what Witty was, uh, wondering about.]

*Affy looks over the chest, wishing he had his spell book, so that he could place a protective shield around it before opening it with a Rezrov spell. No book being present, he examines the locks, deciding between the many wonderful ways to open them*

Great minds think alike, Witty. Check my post 752.
Well, the skull and crossbones was traditionally used by pirates. However, it is also a symbol for poison or something deadly. Now, whoever put the skull and crossbones on the chest may have put it there to warn against something deadly inside. On the other hand, they may have put it there to make someone THINK that there was something deadly inside, so that they wouldn't open it and find the treasure that is really inside there. You know, treasure like gold dubloons, pearls and rubys, pieces of eight, golden crowns...
Let's open it.

OR...
...they might have put the skull and crossbones on the chest to maky you *think* there's a treasure inside, but inside putting something else in the chest - like poison, or the s of long dead s or...
...my point is - it could be double crossed bones!

Oooooo, I hadn't thought of THAT! So....it could be a fortune in treasure, or it could be something deadly, like, um, old laundry.

I don't suppose you have a portable x-ray machine in the sub, eh?
You must have planted that subliminal suggestion, GL. Right in plain sight.

[Protoman] Let me be the one to open it. That way, if anything blows up, it won't be one of you who gets caught in the blast.
[He walks over to the chest and grabs onto the opening]
