[Ecg]: *Copies what he sees Jake do*

[Brigands]: "What the __?! D@*n_Iiiiiittt...!" they cry out as the stream knocks them further away.

*Ecg wipes his forehead, standing there, then he abruptly glances over to Jake and Avatar, to see what-the-deal-is/how they are doing*

*Avatar watches as the bandits are washed away and lowers the shield he had erected. He then gathers some of the arrows that were blocked by it and examines them.*

*After a cursory examination of the arrows* I believe it's safe to say that these were nothing more than common highway robbers. These arrows are rather ordinary, and, in my opinion, poorly made.

*He puts the arrows in his satchel* Shall we continue?

Jake, not looking tired or phased nods. "Yeah. But we need to be on the look out." He says, looking at his letter, and finishes reading it, and turns pale. "Sonofamotherfingb."

[Ecg Unagi]: "I don't mean to be prying,-but since it seems that now they will be after me and Avatar too, since we will be associated with you, does that mean...[?]"

*Here he pauses for a second or two, hoping that there will not wind up being wanted posters of them in nearby villages.*

"Er, on second thoughts"
*Inserts an abrupt change of subject*

"Not to be perceived as grating, but are we there yet?"

"nah, they are after me only. Luckly, I have the money to pay it all off. And soon." Jake says, still looking pale.

[Ecg Unagi]: "Don't, erm-'thugs' tend to charge large interest-rates?"
*Appears flustered*

"Dishonorable, this-collection policy, if that's what it was; Maybe we should have picked lightning (instead of water)" he muses.

*Then Ecg looks out across the horizon and notices something*

"Hey, is that,- if it's going to be dusk soon, then we ought to move. There are things worse than bandits, that also wander around remote areas and roads. In fact, there are a few of them,-some of which I am partially related to..."

*Changes the subject again*

"Not these guys. Small rates, just large amounts."

[Ecg]: "I don't want to have to camp out with them. It's always like that, with traveling toughs,- that some good-for-no|se, or something, just happens to have armed, or not; then, next thing you (I) know, one of them,- reckons that they'll be the next big demon hunter, and takes it out on a bunch of partlings because of a stupid monk giving the guy an amulet or something. This sort of thing erm, happens. Sometimes. Er, sometimes it does (I think)."

*Ecg scrabbles up the snag/dead looking-tree and peers over the top, crouching on one of the upper-side limbs, using his demonic claws* "Hey, you two! I think I can see a gate from over... that way!" *Points* < http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F1783236?thread=407130 /> "Is there a town- in therfe too, or are we going to have to trade with soldiers? Hrrm... I should have brought some bottles of liquor and board-games or something; I mean, what kind of stuff might soldiers want?"

"Don't worry. Lets just go in."

*Ecg slides down the trunk of the snag, while reverting back to looking more human.*

"Um, okay. I'm with you guys then."
*Heads over to the gate*

*Unsure of what happened to hold the others back, Ecg crosses the Paroda Road by himself*

Thinks: Guild, here I come.

*Exit*

*Goes to the front gate*

*Avatar, Ecg, and the newly named Pim head back to Imardin after their adventures at Outpost Poroda and Mt Ruby. The trip passes relatively calmly and Avatar gets some much needed shuteye*

[Ecg]: *Thinks up a game to play with Pim to keep the imp from getting bored and winding up getting into trouble*
