It's not a fairy, it's a demon SC:

Be sure to read the list of ingredients on the WW ready meals - I've spotted trans-fats in at least one kind of WW meal sold in Swedish stores.
The trouble with trans-fats is that they are indestructable (won't go bad) which means that the human body can't digest them. Glue for the arteries, it is...

for me today. And yesterday's was quite reasonable, I didn't go crazy.
Thanks for listening. It really does make a difference to have some buddies dealing with weight management.

It's for me today. My challenge will be to stay out of the candy bowl. I had a fair day yesterday, but I think I went over the 500 calorie limit. I'll do better tomorrow. But, I'm already down a pound. Yay!!!!!
It does help to have diet buddies. You guys are great.

I like having (im)moral support, too!
My day is turning out to look like my day so far. I'll have to work up the enthusiasm to go a *little* crazy.
Ti, I envoke fairies to encourage good outcomes, like the Parking Fairy™, (but I call him Bruce, not in a pejorative sense) and I kinda see him as a cute guy in a gas station uniform, cruising around ahead of me to make sure parking spaces appear when I need one. Self-centered, Moi? I've been trying to track down the Lotto Fairy for ages, but no joy.

Hypatia Posted Nov 3, 2008
I made up some tracking sheets over the weekend. I did a lot better when I was writing my weight down every day. So, I'm starting that again as of this morning. Up a bit since yesterday was a day.
Hey,if you find that Lotto fairy, keep her under lock and key until I get there.

I had a successful first week back on the plan... down about 4 lbs. Typical first week surge, I am sure. And today is an up day. I really like it when the up days fall on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It feels like I get a bonus up day.

Hypatia Posted Nov 3, 2008
Congratulations, Witty.
I'm already feeling better and have only had two really proper down days. My body likes down days. I need to remember that.

Spaceechik, Typomancer Posted Nov 4, 2008
Well, I've been on more days than I was supposed to, I think. Trouble is, I don't think I've lost any weight.
Or, I don't *feel* that I have. I have so much water weight from the heart meds, etc, that I have no idea of how much I'm carrying that's really me, anyway. Drat and damnation!

Hypatia Posted Nov 4, 2008
Don't you just hate bloat and water weight? I can blow up 10 pounds overnight if I eat the wrong thing...something I can't digest.
Calling all JUDDDDers
Spaceechik, Typomancer Posted Nov 4, 2008
Yes, I hate bloat and water weight! Since the HA, I've got really swollen ankles most of the time (they go down if I stay in bed all day!).
It turns out I did lose a little weight, though. I started the week on Saturday at about 190lbs , but when I weighed this morning, I'm at 167. Probably a lot of that nasty water weight.
It's voting day, and I'm feeling great! I'm just so darn proud of my country, that the stay-at-homes from previous years aren't, this time!

"...but when I weighed this morning, I'm at 167. "
Okay, people, breathe! That was another typo... It should have said 186'Where's that Typo Fairy when you need one?! I think her name might have been Wanda -- when I was working in the steno pool, that was the name of the Steno Fairy! Think wire-framed glasses, frizzy red hair in a bun, and a pencil in her teeth.

Hypatia Posted Nov 4, 2008
Wanda?
Hey, any loss is good. Slow and steady wins the race and all that good stuff. Congratulations.

Spaceechik, Typomancer Posted Nov 6, 2008
Yup, Wanda! My ex-boyfriend named Bruce, the Parking Fairy -- still haven't named the Laundry Fairy (but if you live in an apartment, you *need* her!), and the Lotto Fairy is still AWOL.
I modified my spreadsheet so that my days, MWF, are coloured pink (red is *so* hard to read through).

Back to JUDDDD with a THUD.
Today's a day. Fortunately, I've been so tired and so unhungry, it's a breeze. Not sure that's a *good* thing, though.

Pimms Posted Nov 10, 2008
I have started JUDDDering again today after the impetus of Hyp in restarting. Fortunately I only have a few pounds to lose to regain my target weight that I have crept up from. However last time it took months to lose those last few pounds ...
First day done. Not sure I actually achieved a proper cut in calories, but am reassuring myself that I must have cut down enough, by avoiding the unnecessary extras I have been treating myself to in recent weeks.

Hypatia Posted Nov 10, 2008
I'm starting down again. It's slow, but then I never lose fast like a lot of folks. I've gone down 3.5 pounds since I started JUDDDDing again. I was hoping for a big drop the first week, but it didn't happen. I've settled on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as days and Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday as days.
The good news is that I'm already feeling better again and I have more energy.
Good luck, Pimms. It is harder the closer you are to your ideal weight.
What has caused the fatigue and loss of appetite, SC?
Calling all JUDDDDers
Spaceechik, Typomancer Posted Nov 11, 2008
Hyp, I think it's just due to a lack of exercise, no-job stress, and not watching what I eat (but then again, I'm not really overeating, per se -- in amount at least).
I have a pattern -- I'll have a bowl of soup, a few crackers or a piece of cheese toast. For brekky, I've been eating a bowl of oatmeal, with dried cranberries thrown in. Dinner is usually either more soup or a small chop or steak or chicken tender, with a starch and veg. And lately, not even a starch.
Sometimes I think my heart is just slowing down. I get so *tired*, my legs feel like they're made of lead, and they hurt like the . It makes it hard to walk for exercise.

Hypatia Posted Nov 11, 2008
SC, I wish I could give you a big hug. Did you register with a new cardiologist when you moved north? I suspect it's stress more than your diet. You seem to be doing things right in the food department, making healthy choices.
One thing I suspect is that some doctor-prescribed eating programs do as much damage as good simply because the stress created by the diet offsets the benefits. Eating a diet that is familiar and comforting, not denying yourself favorite foods in moderation, is no worse for your health, imho, than following a lot of strict guidelines and being unhappy and frustrated by it. I know first hand what stress can do to us.
