Ok, so this is where you go for help with H2G2 addiction is it? Well, I am certainly addicted - I just keep joining more and more forums. In fact, here I am joining another.
I work full time, but I spend way too much of my work time here. It started out that I would just come to H2G2 at lunch. Then I started checking forums first thing in the morning. Then I started checking them just before I leave. Right now, I am writing this on my lunch "hour", which I started a little early at 11:30 and am ending a little late (it's 1:50 now and I just have a few more posts to make ...). I have been trying to cut back, but it is very very hard.

I'm sorry - but as for teh "cutting back" - we've all been there. We know it's a myth, just like America playing football well and Tony Blair's education. We know it's not true - you will never be able to cut down, but you will stay more and more addicted - FOR EVER!

And good old Tony is promising the internet for everyone in 5 years so we'll have 58 million Brits all in the same boat. Will Britain ever work again?

Actually, things have taken a giant leap backwards in one respect. When snail mail was new, people spent a lot of the day writing letters. They could write several letters to the same person in one day. The letters could even be delivered in a matter of hours if local, and therefore if you were going to be 'working late at the office' you could write and say you would be late for your evening meal.
The Internet might have many uses but one of the main is communication. Mobile phones are used for texting messages. Language is staging a revival.
So, that's me in work for ever too.

I suppose I will, in between H2G2 sessions. See, here I am again. I guess you are right about cutting back. It's soooooooo hard to do.

You're right - it's impossible...
..although two of my IDs have managed it...

Phil Posted Mar 8, 2000
But why should you want more than one ID?
My one does me just fine (I could activate another one or two if I wanted but I'd rather just be ME)
As for work, anyone know of any unix ISP sysadmin jobs?

Why more than one ID? Because it's fun, of course!
You get to have different characters that do different things...
ALthough Bluebottle is me.
And one I use just to avoid cluttering up my homepage with too many articles...

How many articles is too much for one home page you reckon?

If DD says 300 people a day visit the site, how many are the same person with different identities?

Well, there are articles I want to submit, which I put on Bluebottle, and then there are the articles for the Joke Directory etc which I put on:

Guess which one is me (apart from Bluebottle) I started off being Bluebottle, but then realised that the extra articles were getting in the way.
