Good morning, good morning! Coffee, please, IIEM. I brought a Hallowe'en treat. Chocolate cupcakes with pumpkin coloured icing and candy faces! I make them for the children next door, and I thought I should make a batch to bring here. I'll just open the box and leave them on the counter.

Hi Barney! Yeah, this morning I get out the plastic skull with the light in it and put it up on the wall by the gate, then lock the dog into the living room. And give away small candy bars. Round here there's no charm in the holiday, and not many kids either. To me it's just something that will keep me offline for most of the evening.

I've put the skeleton lights in the front window, and I have a plastic canvas witch with caldron I made a few years ago that goes on the front door with magnets.We'll buy a huge pumpkin this weekend and my husband will do a fancy carve in it. He does things like Hallowe'en cats against a moon, artistic goul faces, haunted houses, etc. For Trick or Treat I'll put on green makeup (and a wart on my nose!) and my witches costume to go to the door. My neighbour across the way has a cackle box - its motion sensitive, and cackles when kids arrive at her place. You can hear it all over the neighbourhood!

I just don't have a neighbourhood like that, here.

Kids don't usually come around my neighborhood on Halloween unless they're older and up to no good. There's a good deal of traffic and dark side streets.
