[Mog] Oy, I haven't used my catchphrase yet! IIEM, gimme a usual?
[IIEM] Right, a triple espresso with an extra shot of espresso, and a shot of espresso on the side (with an extra shot of espresso).
[Mog] And make it strong this time!

IIEM, a nice, hot chai with vanilla soy milk, please.
So, the weather's pretty much turned everywhere, has it?
I gave my students back their first test yesterday. Some folks aren't too thrilled with their grades, I don't think. I tell them that they have to wait a week to talk to me about their tests, yet one girl emails me 10 minutes after class gets out with the subject header "questions about regrading." So I quickly disabused her of the notion that talking to me about her test will result in a regrade (it won't). Sometimes, I really wonder if they listen.

There's bad ones in every bunch...
When I'm tutoring, I get some people who want to understand, some people who just want to complain, and some people who should just say and get out into the open, "I'm just going to lie here. Make me learn earth science!"

Scandrea Posted Oct 29, 2004
Calculus- a form of mathematics invented by Newton on spring break, for the purpose of making college and uni students' lives miserable
Useful applications in science and business, and anywhere else you have to evaluate how things change over time.
