The trees outside my window, struggling to survive in the city, are now specked with yellow. The shop below my flat is stocking plastic witches hats, the greengrocers next door has a box full of pumpkins. The children who hang around outside the shop are letting off fireworks.
This can only mean one things.
Autumn is upon us.
