Aroma Forest Sing Along!
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Apr 11, 2000
One two and three jolly coachmen
Sat in an English Tavern
Three Jolly coachmen
Sat in an English Tavern
And they decided
And they decided
And they decided
To have another flaggon!

*adjusts cowboy hat and leans against tree trunk with her guitar*
Something's happening here.
What it is ain't exactly clear.
There's a man with a gun over there,
telling me I got to beware...
You gotta stop -- hey! What's that sound?
Everybody look what's goin' round.
Paranoia strikes deep,
Into your life it will creep ...
*stops*
Dang. Forgot the rest. Can somebody pick up this Buffalo Springfield classic?

*Taking it from verse two*
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
Step outta line, the man comes, and
He take you away!
Everybody, stop -- hey! What's that sound?
Everybody look what's goin' round.
Stop -- hey! What's that sound?
Everybody look what's goin' round.
There's battle lines bein' drawn
Nobody's right, when everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Gettin' so much resistance
From behind
You gotta stop -- hey! What's that sound?
Everybody look what's goin' round.
What a field day for the Heat (whoo hoo)
Ten thousand people in the street
Singin' songs and carrying signs
Mostly say "Hooray for our side"
We gotta stop, childr'n! what's that sound?
Everybody look what's goin round...

*Lil tips cowboy hat to Sporky* How ya doin'.
Irv that was great! Let me show off a fancy tuning.
*turns A string down to G*
Blackbird singing in the dead of night,
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see,
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Lil, do you retune for Blackbird? I've just been learning it in standard tuning and it sounds fine... (really! I've just spent the last three days avoiding homework by learning blackbird and I've almost got it!)

Do you read tab? Check out this site:
http://www.harmony-central.com/Guitar/tab.html
That's where I learned Blackbird. There's tab for almost anything there...

*looks bemused* My nephew is speaking in tongues!
Irv, I learned that tuning for Blackbird about 30 years ago. It makes it EASY to play.
*cranks A back up where it belongs*
What shall we sing now?

I can read tab...sort of. I don't know many chords aside from the basic a, b, c, d, e, g, and so on.

Actually, didn't most the stringed instruments as we know them have there origins in Ancient Greece?

Anyone a parrothead?
I rounded first never thought of the worst
As I studied the shortstop's position
Then crack went my leg like the shell of an egg
Someone call a decent physician
I'm no Pete Rose, I can't pretend
While my mind is quite flexible
these brittle bones don't bend
I'm growing older but not up
My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck
So let the winds of change blow over my head
I'd rather die while I'm living then live while I'm dead
