Never mind all that, I want to see if I beat B!

We apologise for the delay in the results. The compiler of these results in currently engaged in discussions with Terry Robinson about his possible taking over the role that Neil Warnock currently holds at Brammall Lane due to his adeptness at controlling the unruly mob that is Fantasy Football at H2G2.

Change that to: 'The role Neil Warnock formerly held at Bramall Lane...'

So I guess GD will be busy getting his CV in - and who could blame him, if the salary offer Mr. Warnock rejected was indeed £450,000 a season? Heck, I'd give a few entertaining interviews, shout at some referees and pick a team capable of achieving relegation for that much!

So another season comes to an end, and what have we learnt:
Master B falls flat on his face yet again.
McKay is a real talent on the days that he actually bothers to turn up.
I'm OK-ish at this game with occasional successes but mostly mid table - a bit Everton as it were.
The two leaders in the competition are hopeless at maths.
So, to the results. Some goodish scores there with a tidy 19 by McKay taking this week's win
I read the conversation earlier between DD and Ormy as they try to work out who was the winner, and it seems that they've come to the conclusion that it was very close. When I looked at the figures, what they'd said surprised me, and I went back and checked it for a second time.
It isn't close. There is a full 5 points difference between the pair of them!
Ormy, you're going to have to make that mousemat of yours last for another season as we have a new Fantasy Football champion. Well done DD, after that wobble of last week you've pulled it together to come up with a solid 17 points, which includes a high scoring full house, and have taken the win in Season Eighteen

We're not the only ones who are rubbish at maths. According to the final league table, DD has 140 points and I have 136. I don't make that 'a full 5 points difference'.
Still, the important thing is: congratulations DD. If I had to lose, I'm glad it was to a fellow Liberal Democrat.

Well like Coventry I roll up with a shock result at the end - though I'm miffed that I changed my Man Utd West Ham result from the orignal 0 - 1 Tevez.
Many thanks to GD for another season of fun and insults - and whilst I think West Ham should have been docked the points - welcome back to the league of real football. I just hope you're not going to follow Colin's example.

Unacustomed as I am to public speaking I would like to thank the returning office Greydesk and his staff (or is that a shepherd crokk) for the handling of the count. I'd like to thank all my opponents for a honourable and fun campaign. Also I'd like to thank the local constabularies who manned the venues throughout the campaign with stoic determination.
But finally and most importantly none of this would be possible without the best agent possible. For his handling of the Carlos Tevez affair without whose dodgy registration many of us would not have garnered nearly as many points.

Well done DD! And 4th seems to be a respectable Master B beating position for me, so for once this season I'm happy. And I broke even with Nirvanite on our bet. Result...

Once again, well done to Mr. Drawer on a fine performance, and thank you to GreyDesk for providing us with another entertaining competition.
Despite DD's four-point margin of victory, it's still true to say that he owes his victory to the late goal from the Livingston loanee in the Oldham-Blackpool game. Without that goal, I'd have had three more points and DD would have had two fewer.
Ah well, I'm just glad that the 2006-7 season is almost over. My Bradford boys relegated, my favourite non-league outfit Guiseley narrowly missing out on the Unibond Premier play-offs, and me TWICE being pipped on the final day in Fantasy Football. Bring on 2007-8 - surely it can only be better?

That's good news about McCall. I was a little worried that he'd get the push, as that seems to happen to assistant managers when a new leader takes over.
He's defintely ready for management after his training at Bramall Lane, but not the person who is right as the Blades manager in their promotion push. As he's got great links with Bradford, I think that that is the ideal place for him to start his full managerial career. Good on yer Stu, and thanks for everything
