Quite encouraging I thought. France seem to be making us work for the results in the last 20 odd years, but our record against them is one to be proud of I feel

Aye, looks promising. 128 goals scored. Amazing.

More interesting is that we haven't played them in 4 years!! There have been many changes since that 1-1 draw in both teams.
I think the earlier years contributed a lot to those 128 scored

Yeah, but our record in opening games of European Championships is diabolical.
A draw is the best we can hope for, I think.

Pre second world war we had notched up 96 goals against them. Perhaps surrendering to the Germans would have been better for our international footballing future

"our record in opening games of European Championships is diabolical."
Oh yeah Well, lets hope this one is different. It is the 60th year since thousands upon thousands of our troops died to liberate Europe. I think it would be fitting if we won this tournament. Especially if it is England v Germany in the final
Which could happen if I've read the fixtures set-up correctly.
Being a Man Utd fan, I do believe in these coincidental connections coming to fruition, ever since we honoured Sir Matt Busby's 90th birthday by winning the European Cup and thus completing the Treble. I was one of those sat there, 5 minutes from the end, saying 'Somethings about to happen' through slighty gritted teeth.
Key: Complain about this post
