CHARITY CHALLENGE TO MASTER B
Ormondroyd Started conversation May 14, 2004
B, I just *know* that you wouldn't want to end this Fantasy Football League season without settling the gambling debts you've run up as a result of it.

B- stick the tenner you owe me on that cheque as well.

Ah if only Ladbrokes would be so forgiving of the money I owe them
And as for B's debts to me: they are all of the liquid variety, so wouldn't travel well in the post

Good one, McKay!
I have left Amy a message directing her attention to this thread and asking her to say what she prefers as regards getting the money to her. In the meantime, anything I receive in cheques made payable to me (Dave Jennings) will most definitely result in the same amount being forwarded to the amazing running . If you don't have my address, send me an e-mail via the link at the bottom of my Personal Space and I'll send it to you.

Ah the 'Real Life' names conundrum...
I've been around this site now for 3½ years now. In the time I've met, chatted to and made friends with all manner of people. Yet I reckon that I actually know the RL full name of only 6 people, and the real first name of maybe half a dozen or so more.
It's a strange thing this virtual world.

What lovely people you are! I'm quite overwhelmed and very grateful.
The Race for Life will be in Roundhay Park, Leeds on 26 May. It's a 5k (3 mile) run and I hope to complete it in about half an hour if conditions are favourable.
I think it's best if one person (probably Ormy, since he has kindly volunteered) collects the Fantasy Footballers' contributions and sends me a cheque made out in my name. I'm intending to pay Cancer Research UK all the sponsor money I've collected via my credit card.
At that stage, I'll need the name and address of a tax paying Fantasy Footballer to put on the sponsorship form. That way the charity will get an additional 28% but it only works if the person named on the form has paid, or expects to pay, an equivalent amount of tax during the year. Complicated, isn't it? But we can sort out the details later on.
If anyone would prefer to pay me direct, just let me know.
Thanks again for doing this - it's very, very kind of you. I had better make sure I put in a decent performance. *s off to train with renewed enthusiasm *

I'm still technically a student, so I'm not quite yet a tax-payer.
Ormy - I'm just writing out a cheque for £15 - the fiver I owe you, and the tenner I owe Egon. Shall I send it to you and let you deal with the paperwork?

I wouldn't be so sad about that if I were you. It's not entirely a happy experience to watch five-hundred quid a month vanish out of pay packet before you've even opened it
On that note, I'll happily volunteer to be the 'tax payer' for Amy.
Ormy - You haven't moved house since Christmas have you?

Yes, B, you can send it to me, and GreyDesk - I am still at the same address. Amy - I'm happy to act as collector, and delighted to be able to help a good cause.

Actually, I think you'll find that most cheques take 4 working days to clear, so they are more accurately on the way to a clearing house.
