A Conversation for FANTASY FOOTBALL - Season IX - "The Latin One"
WEEK TWENTY - The Results
GreyDesk Posted May 15, 2004
Well there we are, that's it, it's all over for another season.
We welcome a new Champion to the 'Fantasy Football Hall of Fame'. Indeed we welcome the 2nd place finisher as a new face to the competition. Which to me says that this game is rude health and is going from strength to strength
The points this week? Nothing massive overall, but some good solid performances and we've three full houses to finish off the season with a flourish. Which is nice
So who's won?
That's easy. Our long term leader has come through with a positively Highburyesque performance this week to both win the week's competition and to snatch back the Championship by three points!
Well done todd_abraham87, you ARE the winner
Tough luck Psycorp. You were there or thereabouts for most of the season. Good show

On a parallel note, Desk: I like the first-goal scored bonus a lot more than I liked the mystery player bonus.
Any chance we could make that a permanent fixture next season?

I'm not sure, it is fairly random. So it is basically pure luck.

GreyDesk Posted May 16, 2004
I don't particularly want to muck around with the basic structure of the competition, so no the 'first goal' won't become a permanent fixture. However as it seemed to be popular idea, it will be making an appearance from time to time.

"I'm not sure, it is fairly random. So it is basically pure luck."
I'm pretty sure that is the premise of the whole competition. Although Ormy does seem to be particularly lucky.

There's no luck involved in going
Arsenal x - y Mugs (Henry)
That's a conclusion reached by looking at form of teams, players, etc.

Doesn't explain why I've failed to be any good at it over the course of the past umpteen seasons, though.

Maybe you know as much about scorelines as I know about players... You wait until next season. My Phantasy Phootball team will get out of the bottom one!
