Ah, but Egon, for the radio I only cover West Yorkshire... this was a TV gig I was lucky enough to get - my reward for having spent the entire week going up and down the A64. I did the 147-mile round trip fom Leeds to Scarborough on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday... they wanted me to go on Friday as well, but I thought enough was enough!
And they wuz robbed yesterday. Definite penalty! It was all quite poignant really - having done so much work on the Scarborough story, I'd got to know the players a little bit. Colin Cryan and Stan (Ashley Sestanovich to you) were great lads, both there on a three-month loan from Sheffield United, just like I'm on a three-month loan from London. And now it's all over and we all go back to where we came from struggling to get a place on the sub's bench or sort out another loan deal.
But it's been a great ride! Just a shame they were denied the penalty and replay at Stamford Bridge that they deserved.

*apologises for topic drift and any hint of self-pity that my have come across, 'cos that's really not what I'm feeling at all, it's been great*

Well much of that came up just as expected. Almost all get the points for the Arsenal and Birmingham matches, which helps this along to be another high scoring week.
The two bits that surprised me this week are:
1) Who saw Bournemouth coming
2) How come so many of you know about Sheff Wednesday scorers? (Or is that Sheffield Wednesday's *only* scorer perhaps )
Finally, it is Egon who gets the 2 bonus points for getting David Seaman right as this week's mystery player.

The Results:
Arsenal 4-1 Middlesborough (BERGKAMP, Job, Ljungberg, Bentley)

I think not...
Allowances must be made for the fact that you were presumably calculating the results while your boys were doing battle in the FA Cup, so congratulations on the result and your dedication.
But perhaps you were distracted by the news from Nottingham, because I think you've done me out of two points. I think your friends from Hillsborough actually provided me with a full house, and I had the first scorer in the Arsenal game.

*sigh*
I always fear looking at the first post on the thread after I've put up the results, as it's invariably someone claiming that I've made a mistake. And in this case I have.
Yes, Bergkamp was first scorer in the Arsenal match - one more point.
Yes, you did get the score right for Wednesday - that's another point.
These two extra points now mean that you are the sole winner this week with 14 points

Given the way our season's progressing, I think it would be curmudgeonly to do anything other than give a hearty round of to Ormondroyd for this week's performance.

Now how is that
You know, I've always had a soft spot for that movie. I mean it has it's serious flaws - terrible character continuity and appalling football action. But the script is done with love and Sean Bean, Pete Postlethwaite and Emily Lloyd really have a bash with their characters and it somehow all pulls through in the end.
OK, for a British film, Four Weddings and a Funeral it ain't, but it is way better than that bloody Full Monty
