Little activities that are strangely pleasurable
You can call me TC Posted Feb 8, 2010
Am I the only person who gets some strange satisfaction out of banging the superfluous toothpaste out of my toothbrush when I've finished cleaning my teeth? I hold it up to the window to make sure there really aren't any bits left in there. Mmmmmm.

Scratching my head slowly paying special attention to the bald bit.
(And no TC, I don't get the toothpaste thing. It is possible that you are a weirdo )

Nibbling the hazelnuts from my muesli between my front teeth...
And I'm sorry, but the toothbrush thing... you're alone, it seems...

My Dad used to do it. I can't bear the idea that all that encrusted toothpaste will be circulating in my mouth the next time I clean my teeth.

If you're holding the nuts between your teeth, what do you nibble them with?

I've tried the toothpaste thing now. It's ok, but not great!
However, staring! Now you're talking.
I sometimes find myself staring at something for no reason. I am aware of it and can think about looking away, but that would break the spell. I can turn my head each way without looking away which is quite nice too.
I have mentioned this to other people as well, and know I am not alone.
(It is probably best NOT to stare at people - they get un-nerved and don't like it much).

Moving back to my own desk after having been sat in a different part of the office for a week. Feels like I'm coming home.

Being able to tick things off of a to-do list. Completing the task is one thing, but actually being able to draw a line through it and breathe a sigh of relief that you don't have to remember that you've done it is immensely satisfying to me.

Not winning auctions on ebay, then telling yourself it was probably rubbish anyway.

VIP, I completely agree.
When walking along next to metal railings, I lie extending my hand so it bumps from one to the next. this is especially good on the ones builders often use with thin railings very close together, because you get a sound from it to.

I think that's similar for anything new - peanut butter, coffee (and therein lies another - breaking the seal on a coffee jar!)...
And you've reminded me of *another -
A new tub of ice cream - when yo open it, and there's a thin layer on the lid!
Ahh, simple things...
