That's for police stations, not libraries. 
And how would that let you watch tv without turning around and looking around a pillar?
Not too many folks have pillars in their houses. I'm impressed. Is it a marble column or a pillar of fire?

It's a square wooden one.
It would let me. If I put the mirror over there *points* then I could see the TV purrfectly

A regular mirror should let you do that. It would keep you from having a stiff neck.

He'd fly through the air with the greatest of ease...If he wasn't too lazy to use his trapeze.
