we can use D&D magic if we darn well want to!!
there is sleep and food involved so yeah...
it's the most wide magic-group-thing we have.

I just wanted one of the slow shooting guns.
I didn't say there was any reason you can't use AD&D magic - I was just suggesting that the 8 hours of rest might be a problem in a extended combat scenario. Anyone for the Mage system of magic? Or better yet cthulu!

i say magic should be open but not too powerful
actually, i just got a good idea... everyone gets good magic from only one domain sort of thing, then they6 only have weak stuff in everything else.

And exactly how many peopel know anything about D&D magic to restrict themselves to one domain?
Lets jsut give it up with the magic, its just a thing we can use...

Elemental magic is fine
(fire water thunder ice earth etc)
but no death magic... thats almost cheeting
