actually, i'm fairly Dave Hollins wasn't a footballer, whatever the Red Dwarf Omnibus might say. I think the footballer they were referring to was actually John Hollins.

Terry Venables created the character Jim Hazell for a book (called "Hazell", how original) he co-wrote in the '70s. Nicholas Ball played Jim Hazell and went on to play the simulant in the episode Justice from series 4.
