I learn about them all from Human Rights Watch but theres nothing I can do. Thats the frustrating part for me, as well as so many of my friends don't even know or care about these and all the others.

it would be good if people still posted to the alternative Iraq policy i created at A1000107 and turn that into what would have been a good policy for the situation. It can then be turned into a template that can be used in future situations such as this one, if there ever is one.

The sad thing is :- Whether oSadam is dead or not .There will be most likely more dangerous fanatics who will endeavour to perpetuate a 'Holy War' in his name .
No doubt about it.The Americans and British will have to maintain a permanent force in the Middle East from now on ,if only to look after our interests . The oil is now ours by dint of conquer .
To the victors go the spoils .

Officialy it was a liberation, not a conquest, so the oil remains the property of whatever government Iraq ends up getting. Let's just hope the UN has some say in that, because we all know what will happen if the USA is left to do what it likes.

no man screw the oil, its time for the US to completely fold in on itself become the worlds hermit, and not the worlds policeman.

There was a lot more to it than that. The US not being in the L of N was only one of many causes.

And who was liberated most? The thieves. The robbers. The looters. The Vandals who would destroy their own heritage .These will be the ones to gain power in any new Iraq and once more the defenceless and the innocents will be the ones to Suffer. What price Liberation?

i don't know what history books you've been reading but the UN hardly existed before WWII. and isolation would only result in massive spending cuts for the US gov which would filter down to way less taxes for me.

AFAIK the UN *didn't* exist at all before WWII... isolationism would mean:
1. Military spending cuts, so more money.
2. Oil products are subsidised even more.
3. Oil supplies run even lower, and are not restocked because there aren't the US friendly goverments in places like Iraq.
4. Oil runs out
5. USA is no more
6. Everybody's happy!

PS Ok, number 6 might have gone a little too far... so maybe i should

Recently, I have found myself in sympathy with no 6, Tango, so maybe I shouldn't say so... But I distinguish between individual Americans, and the Fourth Reich...s screaming!

word to a moter. comparing the current masefestation of the US to nazism is alittle extreme, but you're heading in the right direction.
