I don't know about N Korea Tommy. The US are basically cowards. If they think a Nation has any kind of weapon that might kill more than 7 of their people then they won't attack them.

I heard on the World Service yesterday, Peachy, Colin Powell issuing 'warnings' to Syria that it would be judged on deeds, not words. The woman in the studio asked the Washington correspondent what it was that Syria had to do to comply. Seems, no one is really sure, not even Powell!
It's rather like Dubya insisting that Iraq comply, before March 20th. Sat here where I am, I couldn't see what else Saddam Hussein could possibly do, (short of suicide. Of course, he didn''t do that, that we know of anyway...)

Tomorrow (Sunday/) My little Grand-daughter, Mary-Jane,aged 8 will make her first Holy Communion .I dont know if that makes any sense to you ,as I do not know Your religion. But ,next to her wedding , it is the biggest day of her life .She will wear a long pure white dress ,to signify purity, she will recive the Sacrament of Holy Communion .which up to now will be the biggest day of her young life.
When it is over,her mother (my daughter) will hold a small celebration in her house ,when all the family will gather together to celebrate this wonderful day in her life .But Peachy ,all she can see just now is the presentys she will receive and I am sure there will be many. Dominus Vobiscum. (The Lord be with you)

Tommy Mac - I know just what you are talking about. Been there, done that . Haven't thought about it for a long time. First Communion, first Confession, Confirmation... seemed to me that I was always getting dressed up when I was a kid ! In really naff suits too ! Girls always got away with the white dress !

Thinking about things like this makes me wish I was a better person. I usually post on here when I am annoyed, and end up ranting and being rude to other posters. Its just that I find that as I get older I care more and more about human life, and have very little patience for people who try to justify taking life for political gains.

I've never been a great believer in organized religion, but somehow always find myself defending the Church if someone bigotted tries to knock it. I think it is because I believe in a God of some kind or other, and I believe that the Church is a power for good, and contains many more people who are working for good than who are content to tolerate evil.

Anyway, as I said, have a great day on Sunday.

P.S. explain a few more of those Scottish phrases above !
