I was trying to read something into your post that obviously wasn’t there. I suspected it was a bit of personal abuse, now you have confirmed it. If can disagree with me by all means, but at least come up with some reasoned argument. By resorting to personal abuse you are demonstrating the very thing that you claim to dislike. If you can't get your own way be reason, get tough and abuse the other party.
You are right about one thing though. I do have a lot of time on my hands. I was paid pretty well for my services and I get quite a nice pension now thank you very much. I leave the jobs you mention to those less fortunate than myself.

I also get a Pension. A War Disablement Pension and this of course disbars me from receiving the State Pension.
All I get is an Age Allowance from when I was 65 ,some 8 years ago, but it is no more than a pittance. What price Service to one's Country ?

You are disbarred from getting a State Pension only if you also receive an Unemployable Supplement. AreYou? If you are there are other supplements you can claim. Have a look at the following web sites and check you are getting everything you are entitled to. You may be entitled to other National Insurance related benefits that you have not claimed.

I was responding to Dorien's sarcasm - at least that what I think it was as his comment was so abvious that that is the only interpretaion that could be put on it.

Dont patronise me.
I am not some kind of fool as you seem to assume .
I have been fighting War Pensions beaurocracy since 1948. I also have dicovered other injuries which are officially attributed to military service and of course have pursued a claim to cover these injuries I.E.deafness ,ischaemic heart condition ,but all to no avail.
All I am told is that I cannot clain retrospectively and since I already am in receipt of 100% Disabiliy Pension, no matter what other injuries or conditions may be discoverd ,I cannot receive more that the 100% .
Even when I applied for Invalidity Benefit I was told I was too fit to qualify .
So. I am 100% disabled and 100% fit .Work that out if you can .But please dont think you are helping by giving me patronising advice .

Tommy,
If you cannot accept help in the spirit it was given then you really do have a problem - a problem that only you can sort out.
I was just pointing you in the direction of some information that you may have missed. Not being familiar with your personal circumstances, that is all I can do.
As someone who has spent some time sorting out other peoples problems, can assure you the number of people who are ignorant of their entitlements far exceed the those that are. You may or may not be one of them.
Claiming Invlaidity Benifit is a minfield. If you want to be successeful you need expert advice. Such advice is freely available from the Citizens Advice Bureau. Have you been there?

I certainly was not asking for your help.
I am quite capable of fighting my own battles especially against Jumped- up pen pushers .
If you are genuinely doing it to help ,then thanks , but believe me ,there is no need .I have had 55 years of experience fighting these sort of people.
I really do enjoy a good argument.

I think it's fair to say that Stuart is just a plonker.
It would be unfair to go beyond that.

If this is what the protest to the bbc over the iraq policy has turned into, then I will be thinking of withdrawing my name.

Yes it is rather a shame. Going off-topic is one thing but unnecessary rudeness is quite another matter. I haven't checked whether all the other threads under the petition have devolved into slanging matches instead of people signing up (or simply stating their reason for not signing up). I don't think the behaviour of a few people is enough to warrant withdrawal from what could be a worthwhile petition though.

I thinks is fair to say Peachy, if that is all *you* have to say then there is nothing sensible you can say to contradict me.
