we should have a song. and maybe a flag. the h2g2 logo on a background of goo/albaster? but not tacky bumper stickers. that's going too far.

If you look at the withdrawn/introspective nature of most goths it suggests that their aim in life is just to be as true to themselves as possible. Looking at society in general I find the materialistic "must have everything" greed far more evil than a desire to live your own life without intruding on others and not have someone else try to force their perspective on you. Thats why its so difficult to classify what goth is. It may be characterised by an obsession with death, blackness etc. but it is a spiritual thing. Almost like a religion with no deity.

What are some goth rock bands? what bothers me the most about all the entries about goth rock and entries about most genres is that they hardly ever give examples of prominent artist (or any artists) in that genre.

ps sry to spoil the thoughtful pensive mood.

"prominent artist"...? difficult with Goth as the scene is so small; band I know quite well may be unknown in the US or UK.
I could name:
Bauhaus, Christian Death, Fields of the Nephilim, Joy Divison, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure
