I do think he looks old enough... and haunted, if he wants to.

Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 25, 2002
he's the right age as I READ the character - but not to keep pace with Rickman really. But I think he *could* do haunted, he's a darn good actor, Hugh Jackman.

Rickman looms large, but Jackman has the exact right face for Sirius, methinks. Interesting, at the least.

Jackman would make a good Sirius: more important than what age he is, he has an ageless quality, like Snape to a degree, Dumbledore...
...I think they will get someone new in for Dumbledore though [I'd quite like Patrick Stewart!]

Catwoman Posted Nov 25, 2002
I thought we were considering Jackman for Lupin? Which is more plausible than Sirius (I'll if Sirius isn't good enough).

Greta_9, Keeper of the 4/4 Beat and Deep Sexy Basslines, in a strange condition Posted Nov 25, 2002
He could do either, now couldn't he?
The Weasleys
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 25, 2002
Jackman for Lupin if anything definitely - he's not right for Sirius, who I see as much more "scraggy" - having been in prison for 11 odd years.

Can we sum it up now?
Lupin - Hugh Jackman
Trelawney - Joanna Lumley
and as for the others?
The Weasleys
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 25, 2002
Sirius - Ralph Fiennes
Dumbledore - Paul Schofield
who else have we to cast? Moody, Rita Skeeter, Karkaroff
The Weasleys
Geoff Taylor - Gullible Chump Posted Nov 25, 2002
For Moody, how about Ron Moody? (been around for years, played Fagin in Oliver)
Or Tom Baker? (Wonderful Dr Who, has got the voice to strike fear into anyone)
Or Ian Richardson? (Remember House of Cards, where he played the cunning & authoritative prime minister?)
Or Fred Elliott? "Constant Vigilance, ah say constance vigilance, Ashley!"

Rita Skeeter! How about Jennifer Saunders?
Karkaroff, hmmmmm...
The Weasleys
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 26, 2002
Is Ron Moody still alive?
I kinda think Rita Skeeter should look like Helena Bonham Carter... but probably without being HBC...

Oh nooooo, too pretty. Jennifer Saunders, definitely. The part calls for a good comedian.

Catwoman Posted Nov 26, 2002
Helena Bonham Carter? Can't really imagine her without 19th century hair. (no, haven't seen her as an ape)
Ralph Fiennes for Sirius.
Liam Neeson for Lupin.

Maureen Lipman? The name rings a bell.
The Weasleys
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 27, 2002
oooh, yeah, that could work!
Greta -check out the IMDb for her, I can't think of obvious things that she's been in off the top of my head!

Maureen Lipman - http://us.imdb.com/Name?Lipman,+Maureen
Not really very useful, unless you've seen the films, which I don't think I have. Also no piccy. 1946 though, so quite old.

i think that woman who payed one of the leading roles in the beach would be good. she s british, her name is (*i think it is*) tilda swinton. she has this look of someone who is just a bit freaky.
