Don't think so. He's too disquieting and sexually ambiguous. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but Lupin is a tragic, titanic figure, a bit of a Heathcliff. Plus, Bowie is really too old.

I think Lupin is going to be an unknown...

david bowie would be an exhiting known! smiley - laugh

but yes, i agree, i cant really think of someone suitable. plus also it has to be someone who is going to be available for the small parts in following stories.

Exactly...

I wonder what Cho will look like smiley - smiley

ooooh good point. gonna be hard because if the rumours and sucpicions are true she may have a large role in a later book, so she'll have to be able to act. buit on the other hand cho could just be a red herring and she may never become important at all.

I reckon she's not going to be that important...but I'm probably wrong!

What? She is supposed to be Harry's love interest. Hermione will end up with Ron, sure as heaven. I bet anything Cho will be much more important as the saga progresses smiley - smiley

the hermione/ron handshake in the second film was extremely well done....and tells us that chris columbus is also convinced they will end up together

The fight in the dorm room in The Goblet of Fire is really the tell-tale sign that there is something up between Ron and Hermione (plus, Ron's jealousy of Viktor Krum...) It'll be very interesting to see how Rowling will deal with Harry's guilt over Cedric's death, especially as he really fancies Cedric's girlfriend...

The Weasleys

but will she deal with it or will she just avoid the issue

Catwoman

Ooh, love triangles! (handshake scene, magic!)
Liam Neeson or David Bowie as Lupin, Ralph Fiennes as Sirius, Peter Pettigrew anyone?

Cho has to be pretty, but not too much because she wouldn't look, well, real. And she has to act. And preferably actually be the age she's supposed to be. (or the right age in relation to the main three)

Cho - a younger Ming-Na smiley - smiley

I do think Rowling will deal with the Ron Hermione situation in time, but as a lot of people have picked up on it, I think she'll spin it out until the last book. Three books to go until the Ron-Hermione lip-lock! (Ron is my favourite chiaracter, incidentally.)

The whole Weasley family are my favourite characters (even bit-parts Charlie and Bill!)
I'm guaranteed to smiley - cry if JKR kills off any of them. Even Percy (who is much more likeable in the film btw - anyone agree?)

Haven't seen the film and won't until Alfonso Cuaròn takes over as director - Chris Columbus is annoying.

He is - as the hideous final scene (pre-credits) of the Chamber of Secrets film shows.

Not that I've particularly liked any of Alfonso Cuaròn's films either. A Little Princess was crappy: a terrible adaptation, and nowhere approaching faithful to the book (New York, WW1 and her daddy returns? please), I refused to see Great Expectations on principle after that. And I wasn't crazy about Y Tu Mama Tambien either.

Well, at least he's imaginative, and he cast Gael Garcia Bernal in Y Tu Mama Tambien (phwoar) smiley - smiley I suppose asking for Cameron Crowe would be too much!

hmmmm, personally I favour Tim Burton or Terry Gilliam for the job. I don't really like Cameron Crowe's stuff either, always seems a bit bland, and his Tom Cruise penchant is plain annoying given that it leads to predictable films

hate tom cruise

Tim Burton and Terry Gilliam, very good choices... I'm a bit of a Cameron Crowe fan, not for Vanilla Sky which I haven't seen, but for the utterly hilarious and very good Singles and Almost Famous. His stoner guys and rock chicks are pitch-perfect.
