What other characters are there?

Okay, okay, my choice for Sirius is both alive and the right age, but not British, okay. And other roles would mean that people got the wrong imporession of who Sirius is.
It's just that I've seen him in a film go from being someone who your reaction to is 'go away, you're horrible/scary/nasty/evil' to being someone you like. And he did it while looking ugly.

Not British? As in, still an Anglophone or French or Italian or Swedish or what? Gissa clue!!!
Until you do, I'll stick with John Lynch!
In the meantime, Rhys Ifans for Bill Weasley (bring on the hair dye) and Elijah Wood for Cedric Diggory (OK, he'd have to take lessons, but I mean, if Renée Zellweger can pull it off... or Stephen Dorff in Backbeat...)
Hmmmm... Stephen Dorff for Sirius Black! (Not old enough, I know, but just about the right face.)

Someone somewhere suggested Antony Stewart Head to play a part... I just don't think they specified what!
Who would be Pettigrew?
The Weasleys
Greta_9, Keeper of the 4/4 Beat and Deep Sexy Basslines, in a strange condition Posted Nov 19, 2002
Nope, too tall and stately. Pettigrew is small, fat and balding...
The Weasleys
friendlywithteeth Posted Nov 19, 2002
Not ASH as Pettigrew! The person I was reading about just said that he thought that ASH should be involved somewhere!

Awwww... Actually, he'd be very good as Sirius, wouldn't he? he can do the smouldering broody gaze quite well when he wants to.
Pettigrew... Jack Black (more language coaching)

Elijah Wood is too short to be Cedric (imagine how big Ron would be by then, and Diggory is older than them).

Age thing (then let's not have to go thorugh it again)
In the Mirror of Erised Harry's parents look late 20's early 30's. So, 12 or so years later, Lupin, Sirius, Wormtail, and Snape should all be early-mid forties, with variations for how stressful their lives have been, due to joining the Dark Side, being in Azkaban, being a Werewolf, being a rat, etc. In fact, they've all had stressful lives, so they should look older if anything. So no-one under 40 can be them.
Has anyone else heard David Bowie for Lupin?
The Weasleys
Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted Nov 20, 2002
basically - I think they have to cast Sirius and Lupin the same age as Snape - Alan Rickman - regardless of how old they're all *supposed* to be (I never think they can be much beyond mid-late thirties)...
so Ralph Fiennes is technically too young, but he could look as old as Rickman.
Alternatively - Liam Neeson is the right sort of age, Lupin anyone?
As are Mortensen (but American, and his accent didn't always hold up in FOTR however much I loved him) and Sean Bean.

Liam Neeson - right kind of face, but too big and tall and muscular.
Still with John Lynch.
