The ideal three:
Granny Weatherwax - Sian Phillips (veteran Welsh actress, austere, severe, but handsome face, must be pushing seventy now?)
Nanny Ogg - June Whitfield playing it bawdy (perhaps Beryl Reid or Joan Sims?)
Magrat Garlick - the delightful Jane Horrocks who can play "not unattractive from certain carefully chosen angles" to perfection

Ah, in a thread about Pratchett novels to be turned into films, I thought we were auditioning for the role of Mr Phillips at the Blue Cat (member of a specialised sub-comittee of the Seamstresses Guild, whose president, Mrs Rosie Palm, holds that "un-natural acts are only natural")
Eddie Izzard would have the gravitas for this role, I think!
