The old wizard is feeling sad and neglected.
He spies something lying by the side of the road.
Why would someone leave a pink notebook with names and addresses in it there?

Never let business get in the way of voluntary pursuits .
What's this dragon doing half way up a mountain?

Hiya, zero_mp..., welcome to the adventure. We probably can't see you right now, or the dragon since we're all inside the mountain in a hidden city of Yetis, fighting some demons with ice cream (we have some bizarre backlog, I will admit. It's fun to read through, though.)
*Sighs, and catches the rod before it hits the ground*
Is it fragile, then? Will it break if it hits the floor?

I already have it in my teeth.

I'm still going to pretend that Affy is mostly invisible, though...
Ooh, cool, Peet! Now, press that button that says "Do Not Press This Button."

I mean the one that's on the staff, of course.

*Said while possibly invisible*
Could be fun, Peet.

[A door opens in midair, kinda like the reverse of Roadrunner running through painted-on scenery. Dylan pokes his head out]
[Dylan] Hey, uh, didn't you have some sort of solution to both filling the spot on your mantlepiece and not leaving the Yeti bereft of their staff? Involving some scrap metal and wiring, as of post 1064 in this thread? Or possibly Amy's --
[He's suddenly grabbed and pulled back through the door by Nabeshin (an atrociously-dressed Japanese man with an afro) and David Anez (who looks like Mega Man as of MM7, sans helmet, and with a blue and purple suit instead of blue and lighter blue), who slam the door shut behind him, and it vanishes.]

Thanks for letting me join in. I'll stand by the moat and see that everything is OK. I don't talk a lot when I'm on guard. I'll see you next time I'm off. *breathes fire.

Oh! I see you've left a rod lying on the floor. No, it didn't break. It's still there.

Er ... I don't think you've entirely got the idea of what this adventure is all about and what's going on in it, zero_mp ...

Oh alright. I can see you all know each other. I'll unsubscribe from this thread and then it will make your life and my life much easier. Bye.

We're quite happy for you to join in; just read some of the backlog to get a feel for how the story's progressing, then try not to post something that directly contradicts what others have posted before you or that is physically impossible.

No problem. Just spend a couple of minutes thinking up a good (im)plausible excuse for your sudden appearance!
Incidentally, the "" tags denote when we're talking "Out Of Character". Anything we say between them is heard by the other *players*, but not by their *characters* - we use them to discuss errors in continuity or things that fall outside the scope of the game. If you don't use them, the other characters might hear you...
And despite how it looks sometimes, there's no collaboration going on outside the thread; if we all start doing something together without fiorst discussing it it's either a case of "Affy did something dumb and we're all following along to see how it turns out" or it's something we all did in a previous adventure so we kind of know the ropes. You'll soon pick it up.
Oh, and references to "CLI" are talking about "Crater Labs Inc.", a (semi?-)fictional corporation elsewhere on h2g2... ( A258167 )

Hm...
*Grabs a mufflewhump, concentrates, then hands a long invisible thing, remarkably like a poster tube just the size to fit the staff in, to Peet*
*whispers--Peet, stick the staff in here...*
*gets another mufflewhump, concentrates on all known and unknown properties of the original staff, including dings and age marks*
