Oh, we also do things for laughs. Like so:
[The Grey Man continues zipping by ... and then knocks over the replacement staff, sending it flying towards Affy again. The Grey Man, in between his zippings through the portals, starts swearing incomprehensibly in Yeti.]

Y did the grey man cross the road. Z because the old woman was carrying a very heavy load.

Not *quite* what I had in mind, but, points for trying. Maybe we should take you along on a "getting the hang of H2G2 adventures" H2G2 adventure at some point.

it's always best to do what you've been employed to do

*Taps Amy on the shoulder*
Thanks, Amy, but I've taken care of it. And if Dylan's appearance a few posts earlier is any indication, I don't think the Grey Man's quite picked up on just what's happened quite yet.

*Affy moves towards the zipping Gray Man, holding the staff - yes, the real staff - out in case the Yeti might want it when he stops zipping*
You okay in there?

[Both portals disappear, and the blue one reappears half a block away. The Grey Man zooms towards Affy, slowing down and catching the staff, coming to a stop a few feet away.]
[The Grey Man] Just got done with the last one! Took a bit, but, well, we should be covered for a bit, assuming your Cunning Plan worked out all right.

I doubt it. I mean, it was just ice cream, after all. But hey, at least we left some stories they can tell.
*Grins checking his watch again*
I think we've done about all the damage that we can do around here. Tell me, what's the safest way down the mountain from here?

IIRC We're not so much *up* the mountain as *in* the mountain; "down" might not be the way we want to go...

Well, if going down through the mountain happens to be safer, it should still be considered a viable option.

[The Grey Man] Well, teleportation works. I could probably land you right where you were in Post 1 of this thread.

Afgncaap5 Posted Nov 28, 2007
Well, that could work. Oh, and for the record: while we're gone, there's a guy named Hammish McFierce, he's up to something. Not sure if it's necessarily bad news for you, but I'd watch out.
Oh, and keep an eye on Egg MacMuffin, too. He's up to even more something.

Egg MacMuffin. He's Bad.

[The Grey Man] Oh, don't worry, I've got, ah, political concerns covered. This isn't the first time I've had that sort of problem.
[He gestures with his walking stick and a blue portal appears; visible through it is the exact point of view that would have been had upon arrival in the thread from CLI.]

* Peet looks through the portal. All he can see is a patch of muddy ground with a few dents in it apparently positioned vertically about eight feet through it. *
Oh no. Not again.
