My memories of that particular day are that I tried three different routes before I eventually got to work in Winchester one and a half hours late and I was rather heavily pregnant at the time so my bladder was under a great deal of "stress"! If there'd been any trees left standing, I probably would've dived behind one as I was getting pretty desperate!
By a strange co-incidence, my daughter's school was closed last Friday as it was flooded due to the bad weather we had last Thursday night. Mair likes her head mistress though... I don't think she's one of "them" unless Mair has been "got at"...

Not all teachers/head teachers are bad, just some. I've like most of my teachers in the schools I've been to, but the occasional one does spoil this somewhat.

I feel sorry for most of today's teachers especially with regard to problem children who know there's nothing the teacher can really do to them in the way of discipline. However, there are always exceptions of which I've met my fair share since my daughter has been at school and then there are all the Local Education Authority boffins who'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes! They are most certainly "them"! I could write a book about our dealings with the L.E.A. relating to our Statemented autistic son which has involved our local M.P. (she was more than useless and has to be one of "them") and threats of legal action. Still, we managed to have our way and get Christopher into an autistic unit and not have him "integrated" into mainstream schooling (a cost cutting exercise on the part of the L.E.A. and the Govt.) where he was being bullied and beaten up (we even had to take him to the local hospital's A&E department at one time).

There was a weather forecaster in Australia who predicted the worst storm ever somewhere ( I forget where) and said that another place would be the safest place. He also moved to this other place. A short while later the storm hit, in the other place.

A guzunda is a distant cousin of a gazinta.
You know what a gazinta is. That's when you're doing a division problem and you have to figure out how many times some number gazinta some other number.
Guzunda and gazinta are third cousins once removed.
Or at least that's what They say.
(And if you try to go over Niagara Falls in *anything*, the act will be frowned upon by the constabulary of both Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Niagara Falls, Ont. I asked Them.)

Probably the same They who came up with 42 for the product of six and nine. It's the only logical explanation. *sigh*

On being "pierced" for the first time, Billy Connely's piercer said "One less of them, another one of us!" So conversion from them to us is possible.
