...if you've read my post on the Progress report Thread...you'll notice that what you said about (me)"not wanting anything to do with an invalide"...is so right on time. I'm not quiet an invalid...but my life, as I'd known it came to a screetching hult.
I use to be in a wheel chair...don't like that...
I say.....good for your Aunt! 87! Wow. Natural couse of events.
I really hope I don't live a real long time.....Granmother was 98......dad 'should have' died when he was 50 +...he was 83.
...it's in my jeans....
I'm tickled you got a 'puter!!!!!
I buy myself a BD & Christmas gift every year! That way...I don't play the crysle ball game with anyone and I always get what I want! I jusss love not being disappointed!

Thank heavens I've never had a really serious illness. I guess the key must be to try to keep things in perspective and not turn inward too much. But, never having been there, I sure can't speak from experience.
So, are you fully mobile now? Canes? Whatever? I figured from your rants that there had been a serious problem with either yourself or someone very close.
Makes me appreciate your sense of humor even more! What is it they say...............whatever doesn't kill us just makes us stronger.
I justified the new computer by telling myself that I'll do more work from home. But I really wanted it to play on.

...Whatever ya' gotta' tell yourself ta' get you through the day!
Only use a cane/walker if it's a really BAD day...use to be always...now it's every few wekks-months. I keep waiting to get mowed down by the BFI truck (garbage truck) the 1st day I feel no pain! ...or...I go to the mailbox...rip open a letter from the FDA saying they've found a cure for EMS...all you need is one...
oh let's say...on vitamin 'K'......a cure...SPLAT
I think I don't mind the EMS as much as most people would, or do...I'm just a flat out realist. plus I've done alot of awsome stuff in my lifetime.
...& when the doc told me I had lung cancer I just sid,"Oh. And do you have any copazine samples for me today?"
I do NOT have lung cancer...now, 7 years later...he says I must have never HAD it...whatever...I didn't DO ANYthing about it. People keep praying for me...I tell um.....if they want to help...pray that I wake up dead! My theroy is this...pray for EVERYBODY...I'll be in the pile somewhere! God's got enough on his hands.
Hope I don't get a desk job when I get there!(I have a lady who will E eveyone when I keel over for good...so everyone won't be all, "Oh you know her...'Tart'! Probably ran off to Itily with George Clooney or sumthin'...
Mama always said, "Ya' can get use to hangin' if ya' hang long enough!"
...Talk more to you later...I really NEED sleep.
...*takes out note pad and writes: remember to tell Lady-H how her sense of humor got her chucked out of an ER one time during a relapse...*
...if you DO ever need to get into an ER FAST...which of course...that's why you're there...just tell um (loudly)"I'm/He's gonna' hurl! People get out, the way...and you get urgent care.

How the heck did the misdiagnose something as serious as lung cancer? It boggles the mind.
My favorite aunt died from lung cancer. When she was diagnosed we started reading the literature about it. There sure wasn't anything encouraging in any of it. So thank heavens you didn't really have it.
A guy here in town was diagnosed with testicular cancer and was scheduled to be castrated when he decided to go to Mayo for a second opinion. Turns out he had gall stones! They took out the gall stones and the swelling in his jewels went down. No cancer. He was somewhat put out,as you might imagine.
I'm bored. Think I'll find a good book and do nothing for the rest of the day. Happy New Year!

I'll see if my ladies book club wants to read it. Now quit whining.
In your screenplay will we get to see the Indians ravish Mary?
Boy do I have indigestion! That's the last time I have gin and marshmallows for supper.

Try to live with it.
And I can't imagine a sweet, shy thing like you frightening off anyone?
Did you perhaps threaten him with bodily harm? Nah! That can't be it.
I don't know if it's sympathy pains or what, but my foot hurts like the tonight. So, what's the time differential between here and India?
Read any good books lately? I'm off my read. Can't find anything that suits me. Guess I'll ahve to reread something I know I like.

Pandora...Born Again Tart Posted Jan 15, 2003
Er......I'm too busy reading screenplays and reviewing short films....I ain't got no time fer no book learnin'.
Follow The River was the last time I read a book...even though it is a true story....it's in novel format.....I read stuff that would bore most people into begging to have their feet whipped with wet bamboo. Psychology, stats, etc.
I do read The Prophet every now and again...and I ahve books that people have given me.....like Crossing Over by John Edward, and stuff like that....But I'm sorta' interested in what I'm writing.
Maybe if I send you some snipits...you'll sleep better!!

Frank watches John Edward. I'm not convinced........but if he's faking it, he's darn good at it. I mean, it's the sort of thing we all want ot be true, so maybe we're seeing proof where ther really isn't any. Or maybe it's all legit. I believe and I don't believe.
So how much time do you spend on your writing? Sems like it would be hard to be a writer and have time for anything else.

Pandora...Born Again Tart Posted Jan 16, 2003
Time??? Whazzzz that???
As per John Edward...he could still learn a few things.
I've been psychic my entire life...it's only natural. Never thought much of it really...runs in the family.
I don't mean just knowing when the phone's gonna' ring.....I also see dead people. ....I even have witnesses...
I have a spirit guide....& my Uncle Terry is my gaurdian angel...
even though I never met him when he was alive...I've met him a few time since.
I'm kinda' like Edward....I don't give a care if people believe or not...cuz when ya' get there......you'll sure be in for an awsome surprise!
I'll answer anything you'd like to ask.....in an E.....I already have Hikers looking at me in an odd way...how odd...

Thanks...............I needed that! Usually I go straight from kids songs into William Shatner.
Got an urgent message last night to call the auditor first thing this morning. Bean Counters! Worse than doctors and lawyers! Well, worse than doctors at least. The same firm has been doing the library's audit for at least 25 years. You'd think they'd have our system figured out by now. Every year it's the same crap. They can't ever understand that we put our cash receipts...fines, copies, etc.........into a separate fund and then add it into the receipts column at the end of the year. So, our closing balance is never just the total of the bank accounts. It also includes the cash on hand in the safe that we use to make change with and for petty cash purchases. It's not brain surgery, for Pete's sake!

Hypatia Posted Jan 18, 2003
Just got off the phone to the auditor! They've assigned a new guy to do it. He has juast joined the firm. ( His Daddy ownes the firm, so he can have whatever accounts he wants. I'm so flattered that he chose little ole me.) so, I had to go over every blasted line item and explain what my headings mean. Well, materials/books/circulating/adult means that we buy books for the public to check out. And private grants are from the private sector rather than from the public sector.
If this isn't just the best way to start the day, I don't know what is.
