Dr E Vibenstein4 was born, through no fault of his own, in the week that Amazing Grace by the Pipes And Drums Of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards was the number one single, a trauma from which he never quite recovered.
The seeds of his literary career were sown when, at the tender age of seven, he received perhaps the ultimate accolade - the joke he sent to The Beano was chosen as "Joke Of The Week".
Having comprehensively failed to become a rich and successful rock star, EV was bitten by the Internet bug in 1997, and after a course of painful injections, inaugurated a website of his very own, which has attracted enthusiastic e-mails from all over the world, not all of which have been "get rich quick" schemes or invitations to websites containing pornographic material.
Since discovering h2g2 in the late 20th century, EV has had numerous guide entries accepted, encompassing such diverse subjects as John Peel, cake, and the tact and diplomacy of Prince Philip. He retired from a long and rewarding career as an ACE in 2004, although he remains a Guru and a Scotsman, and is now married5 to fords with a gorgeous screaming dervish of a daughter.
