sorry, I was off because my son needed the computer (or rather the printer).
Sooner or later we will all be reigned by a very few companies all over the world...
And temperature: we had an extremely warm April, a mediocre May and now we are wondering what summer will be like
But we have to get used to changes in climate anyway (I hope though that it never comes that far that Düsseldorf because a seaside port).

It seems it's only been over 30 a few days I prefer cooler weather. Much easier adding clothing...you can only remove so much!

May here was really cold, but April was splendid. We had such nice weather for the h2g2 meet in London.

I agree with you Darrell, I prefer a temperature up to 20 degrees, thats enough to feel well. And if necessary I can always start to wear socks (when the temperature gets below zero) or wear a second jumper

That's true, I can cope better with cold (if it's dry, that is) than with heat.

*sigh* yes Tina we must get used to climate change! I fear the heat is coming in July or August.*wipes a sweaty brow just thinking about it* Our winters have already become much much more uneven - warmer, colder then warmer again, then very warm, then very cold...*throws hands up*

I am afraid that as with a lot of others things the only certainty we have is that nothing is certain.
Winters are not real winters anymore, april like july - I wait and see what the rest of the year (and the years to come) will be like.
But I try to take it as it comes and not to moan too much - I don't like negative energy beeing around too much....

Did you hear that the G8 agreed on reducing emissions by 2050. I don't expect to live that long.

Yes Ib heard that B'Elana. I have a feeling things may be in a sorry state by 2050...if I live that long. I'd be 94, so it is possible. *shrugs*

nor will I (or I will be 87 years of age by then)
But the real problem is, those who agreed upon will definitely not live anymore by then and much earlier won't have any power anyway.
And they can agree on anything - if the industry doesn't join the game what are they going to do?
And after the next elections in all these countries everything can change as well.
As long as noone actually starts acting nothing will change.
And everybody is pointing at the others and saying: you have to begin, then I will do something. Or you can hear the excuse, that if the others won't start the own acting will be of no use.
That way nothing changes - only the earth will be destroyed or at least the way it is now (which means that mankind might not survive and nature has a chance to regenerate)
