I changed the skins so it is easier for me to find things
Your son was just ahead of mine then - my eldest passed his driving licence last friday. But since I neither have a driving licence nor money we don't have car, but his friend's father allows him to drive every now and then.
I will do my shopping with one of these bag-cars (I don't know an appropiate English word for it, those bags with wheels) - and then my sons can carry them upstairs when I return.
My sons are 18 and 17, my daughter is 12.

They're called trolley bags or trolleys as far as I know - just like our 'German' word for them
And I always take my trolley when shopping, as we live on the second floor, and none of my sons is at home when I do the shopping in the mornings of my days off, sio I have to get them up here somehow. Plus, it's quite a way from the car's parking slot to the front door. I wouldn't know what to do without my trolley.

Ah thank you - Traveller in time - but I had already changed the skin before your kind posting.
What das "simposting" mean?
have a nice day

Thank you (trolley - I have to remember that).
If my boys are not around when I do the shopping, I only take the things upstairs that have to go into the freezer or the fridge and leave the rest in the cellar - 3 floors are too much to carry the rest and the two of them are taller and stronger than me

Simpost or 'simulpost' means that two or more people post at the same time. Sometimes, you can have up to four replies all saying: 'posted: just now'. Often, they'll all be replies to the same post. It can be confusing, but more often the results are very funny.
Meant to say: with such grown boys, can't you send them to do the shopping? My son isn't keen on doing it, but I tell him that it's him (and his brother) who want to drink all the ice tea, lemonade etc, and that I really don't need to have dinner, so that if he wants to eat and drink, he'll have to go shopping for it.

Sometimes I do send the children shopping, but somehow they are not necessarily around when I have to go.
And often enough I only decide what I will prepare for dinner when I am in the shop.
As for the simposts - yes I know that phenomenon from other forums, it is funny at times (I just didn't know the expression, this is the first english speaking place I write in)

What are they called in German then? I've never been in a German speaking forum.
It's easier for me to send them shopping, as it's the men in the house who want to have dinner, they have to think about what they want to have. I can do without dinner, so I'll just cook what they choose.

At the moment I cannot think of an appropiate word for simpost (people just express it by saying *uups - we wrote at the same time).
I do need dinner, at the moment I only have a jogurt or two and perhaps a rice cracker during the day, so I enjoy a nice meal in the evening (I prefer the main meal in the evening).
And if I let my eldest decide we will have pizza almost everyday
(the others have a more varied taste though)

Mine eat pizza, too, but usually for lunch. We have our main meal in the evening, I only egt home from work at 1.30pm, and I don't cook then. And my husband only gets home in the evenings, and has no chance of a good meal during the days, so he appreciates a good meal.
I usually ask the boys for ideas, then we make a list, and then my eldest can go and do the weekend shopping.

I do eat pizza, too - but not too often.
And since my eldest does work as well (he started his apprenticeship last year) I don't want him to do too much for me.
I don't mind the shopping though, so it is okay.
I only don't have a clue right now what I will prepare this weekend (if you asked me salads would do)

Exactly
at moments like that I feel like Marvin
but I also have to do some more than the normal housework, there are a couple of cases that have to be sorted out
