Oh yes, I am a fool. I took Further Maths...

I have a friend who got practically 100% in further maths A-Level, and 100% in Maths A-Level, so.. I'm used to the world of crazy people. .. suffice to say, he's at Oxford, having done all 7 of a 2-questions-to-be-done-in-an-hour paper and got perfect solutions for all of them (in the time they've been setting the paper, no-one's ever got more than one perfect solution) in the oxford maths interview paper thingy.

Sounds like one of my friends. His lowest mark has been the murky depths of 89%! His others are all 100%, except for one 99%.

Do you want to try and say hello on Wednesday then?

Sure thing. .. I'll show you anything they might happen not to have shown you, if you want. (Or, alternatively, I'll buy you a beverage of some sort, after you've recovered from how ridiculously cheap alcohol is as a student). Or you could run away. The choice's yours.

.. after my antics last night, I'm beginning to think that my avoiding it would be a good idea as well. *doth nod sagely*.. however, there is much else to do in Southampton, my child. *nods sagely some more*

umm.. like.. looking around the campus, and.. umm.. yes. .. I'm an expert on food in Southampton. If you need to find somewhere to eat, I'd be very good at assisting you do that. And if they don't give you a campus tour and show you what the accomodation's like, you're more than welcome to look at my accomodation and see what y'think.. and then, of course, you can sneak into some physics lectures.. (it's far better sneaking around the university to look around rather than taking official guided tours; you get a far better impression. And it's not like the uni has anything particular to hide: it's nice, especially for physics, astronomy, engineering, and computing.)

ho-hum. The mobile phone reception, however, is dreadful. I get a truly abysmal signal db level on my 6210 (cellnet) most of the time. *absently mindedly talks pointlessly*

*sucks lolly pop, still hiding in corner, and now adding people to her new friends list... or, and flashing her googly eyes from being on-line *

no, life is bad. Being woken up and shouted arguments with flatmates at 3am and wanting so badly just to run away and not knowing if, if I'm like this after 12 hours of being home, I'm even going to be able to cope with being back here for the rest of the week.
