I love the album art for Geoff 's Big Disco Sound 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind and other Disco Galactic Themes' album – it seems to be by someone with a passion for the original artwork but has been given a brief to make the pictures as close as possible to the original but with one blatantly obvious difference that is so altered it means that they can't possibly be sued. So for example the 'Liberator' blatantly has four 'nacelles' and not three.

Dangerous - Michael Jackson

Dead Ringer - Meat Loaf
Discovery - ELO
Double Fantasy - Lennon
If I were you I might consider asking if I had a greatest hits album by a musician you have mentioned more than once…
Sasha:
Concert for Bangladesh - George Harrison
Concert for George
Contact - Eiffel 65
Cream
Crosby, Stills and Nash
Alas, I don't have 'Concert for Bangla Desh' [sic] – it is one of those albums that there are always rumours that a special edition is about to be released, but it hasn't. If there is one it'll coincide with the 50th anniversary now, I bet…
And just because I spent 20p for the S Club 7 entry didn't mean I was willing to again for Eiffel 65. And you're right, Cream is a strange omission, along with Crosby, Stills and Nash. Pointless Dylan fact of the day – Dylan inadvertently led to the formation of Crosby, Stills and Nash as in 1969 the Hollies were instructed to sing a Byrds-esque album of Dylan cover songs, 'Hollies Sing Dylan', which led to Nash quitting the Hollies and so began Crosby, Stills and Nash. 'Hollies Sing Dylan' is usually regarded as having no artistic merit but I must confess I quite like their 'Blowin' in the Wind', though it is no Shatner cover of 'Mr Tambourine Man'. The Hollies' next album was titled 'Hollies Sing Hollies' – sadly they never released a cover album of Buddy Holly songs titled 'Hollies Sing Holly'.

Another greatest hits album? No idea. Are we on Cs or Ds?
I don’t think I have any more C’s in me, but I may be able to rustle up a few more Ds:
Don’t Believe the Truth - Oasis
Double Vision - Foreigner
Doughnut in Granny’s Greenhouse - Bonzo Dog Band
Down to Earth - Rainbow
Duke - Genesis

Fairport Convention started as a Bob Dylan covers band - he really did inspire so many people in the Sixties. I have a more recent Brian Ferry Dylan tribute album ‘Dylanesque’ (maybe I should have guessed that one). He did a fine cover of Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall early in his career.

Nil points today, Icy:
Don’t Believe the Truth - Oasis
Double Vision - Foreigner
Doughnut in Granny’s Greenhouse - Bonzo Dog Band
Down to Earth - Rainbow
Duke – Genesis
(Incidentally, you don't have to wait until that letter of the alphabet to guess a potential Greatest Hits artist).
I've got a couple of Fairport Convention's covers on the tribute album 'And The Times They Were A Changin'.' Lots of people have done good Dylan covers, including The Byrds, Guns 'n' Roses, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Manfred Mann and Meat Loaf. And of course there's Peter, Paul and Mary who released a lot of Dylan covers largely because they had the same manager in the 60s as Dylan and he received triple royalties if they covered Dylan – for being their manager, for being Dylan's manager and also for the music publishing rights he held in Dylan's lyrics.
Today I'm listening to:
'Common People: Brit Pop – the Story'
'Concert for George'
'Corrs Unplugged'
'Couldn't Have Said it Better' – Meat Loaf
'Cream of Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel'
Tomorrow I'll be on the Ds.

I forgot about essentials - you could be on to a winner there
I've always thought it pompous to describe your music as 'essential'. Clearly it's can't be, as I've managed to survive this long without it.
Bands seem to try to outdo themselves each time they release some new rehash of their back catalogue. You end up with things like Celine Dion's 'My Love: Ultimate Essential Collection' from 2009 (and no, that's not a guess).
But a quick Google shows me the following among others (these aren't guesses, either):
The Essential Andy Williams
The Essential Clash
Love Changes Everything - The Essential Michael Ball
The Essential Ozzy Osbourne
The Essential Luther Vandross
Just imagine these actually *being* essential. Like you had to play them all to survive.
So I'm going to skip any further E's and here are my guesses for when you get on to F...
Face Value - Phil Collins
Faith - George Michael
Fiddler on the Roof - OST
Flash Gordon - OST
Flowers in the Dirt - Paul McCartney
Definitely Ultimate Essential Collection, Essentially
SashaQ - happysad Posted Apr 4, 2019
That is an impressive selection of 'essentials'
I guess I interpret it as saying, "If you want to know something about X songs, these are the ones it is essential for you to be aware of", but that is a big "If"!
"Ultimate Essential Collection"
That does indeed take the biscuit!
Definitely Ultimate Essential Collection, Essentially
Bluebottle Posted Apr 15, 2019
I have two albums titled 'Essential' – and if Icy doesn't get one I'll be very disappointed 'cos he's guessed that artist for almost everything else…
Sasha:
Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix Experience
Electric Light Orchestra - ELO
Enya - Enya
Essential Bob Dylan
Essential Status Quo
Icy:
Face Value - Phil Collins
Faith - George Michael
Fiddler on the Roof - OST

Flowers in the Dirt - Paul McCartney
Today I've been hearing:
The Doors
Double Fantasy – John Lennon / Yoko Ono
The D'Oyly Carte Opera Performs Gilbert & Sullivan

Essential Michael Jackson?
Fleetwood Mac (should be good for a compilation at least)
Forever Now - Level 42 (there must be an Isle of Wight band in there somewhere)
Forty Licks - Rolling Stones
Fun in Space - Roger Taylor
Definitely Ultimate Essential Collection, Essentially
Bluebottle Posted Apr 16, 2019
Essential Michael Jackson
Fleetwood Mac – I have two Fleetwood Mac albums, including 'The Very Best Of'
Forever Now - Level 42
Forty Licks - Rolling Stones – I've already mentioned this
Fun in Space - Roger Taylor
At last your Michael Jackson suggestions have paid off! And I do indeed own an Isle of Wight band's album beginning with F, but not by Level 42.
