Bryan Adams! That name always takes me back to the Meet in Hyde Park in July 2002, where Mr Adams was playing a gig next to where hootooers were more interested in their game of cricket than his sound check, which we could hear, as it was only a couple of hundred years away on the other side of the chicken wire fence. When the stretch limo, (black with darkened windows) drew up nearby, presumably containing Bryan himself, it did cause a little excitement. Nathalie (one of the italics in those days) was in quite a state, until she remembered she didn't really like Bryan Adams, and then she calmed down.

Happy days, chatting to Jim and Bernadette Lynn, Mark Moxon, and other legendary personages.

Sorry to break up your neat list, by the way. I only just recently finished converting all our CD's to MP3's to listen to in the car, and the Beatles' and John Lennon Anthologies were among ours. Do you have the light blue John Lennon Box with 4 CD's and a book in it?

Good selection of albums beginning with numbers smiley - ok

I've always wondered why 'alphanumeric' isn't called 'numericalpha' as you always do numbers before letters… smiley - headhurts

And yes, I do have the John Lennon 'Anthology' boxset with the booklet – good, isn't it? smiley - biggrin
I'm still anthologising today… And don't worry, Sasha, there'll be Queen later on; 'A Kind of Magic' comes under 'Kind of Magic, A' for example. (Alas I don't have 'Day at the Races, A' or 'Night at the Opera, A'smiley - wah)

I like the idea of going by order of album title. Ours are sorted by artist which means you get an overdose of, say, Eric Clapton, instead of having him dotted between all the others.

Can we guess the next one?

I’ll go for Anthrax

smiley - run

Still on the anthologies, next album will be played on Monday - but it isn't 'Anthrax'. Any more guesses?

I think Tom Petty had a commercially successful “Anthology”, so I’ll go for that.

Or maybe “Antmusic”?

No – I don't have any Tom Petty except for Traveling Wilburys… The last of the 'A's are:
smiley - whistlesmiley - musicalnoteAre Me – Barenaked Ladies
smiley - whistlesmiley - musicalnoteAre Men – Barenaked Ladies
smiley - whistlesmiley - musicalnoteAutomatic for the People - REM

So next up are the Bs – I've got 52 B albums. You get five points for identifying the next album, three for identifying an album that's within the next five and one point for indentifying an album I own beginning with the current letter of the alphabet (so saying, say 'Zulu' Soundtrack now won't win you any points but when we get to the Zs it would).

5 guesses each?

Back to Black - Amy Winehouse
Bad - Michael Jackson
Band on the Run - Paul McCartney & Wings
Bat out of Hell - Meat Loaf
Bat out of Hell II - Meat Loaf

Five guesses each per day sounds fair.

So
smiley - blue = Nil points
smiley - ok = 1 point
smiley - wow = 3 points
smiley - disco = 5 points

smiley - blueBack to Black - Amy Winehouse
smiley - blueBad - Michael Jackson
smiley - okBand on the Run - Paul McCartney & Wings
smiley - okBat out of Hell - Meat Loaf
smiley - okBat out of Hell II - Meat Loaf

I'm surprised, I thought I had 'Bad' but it turns out I have most of the songs on a Michael Jackson compilation and I do own other albums by that artist.

So 3 to Icy and another chance to guess tomorrow.

If Band on the Run’s not in the next five, then you’ve got me thinking (although I’m sure I know one).

Good quiz smiley - ok

"I've got 52 B albums"

Do you have an album called B52?

5.3.2019 – Silly Love Songs

Post 17

Bluebottle

I've decided to give bonus points – if you guess an album I own two copies of you get double-points:

smiley - eurekaBat Out of Hell – I own the normal one and 'Bat Out of Hell – Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
smiley - eurekaBand on the Run – I own both the original and the recent Archive Collection one with bonus disc.

"Do you have an album called B52?"
My wife has The B-52's single 'Love Shack' and also the BC-52's single 'Meet the Flintstones' from 'The Flintstones' film, but I'm sticking to albums not singles. Still I'll give you a bonus point on this occasion and if an opportunity to redress the balance with the other players arises, I'll give the benefit of the doubt elsewhere.

smiley - eurekaB-52

So that gives a total so far of:
5 – Icy North
1 – SashaQ

I’m hopeful for some 3-pointers here:

Back to the Egg - Wings
Back in the World - Paul McCartney
Bad Attitude - Meat Loaf
Bad for Good - Jim Steinman
Balance of Power - ELO

I'm not really very well up on albums, as, for many many years, I didn't have a record player, and never really looked at records. So I can only work with the few LPs and CDs we have.

Is there any classical music in there?

smiley - discosmiley - eurekaBack in the World - Paul McCartney
smiley - wowBack to the Egg - Wings
smiley - wowBad Attitude - Meat Loaf
smiley - wowBad for Good - Jim Steinman
smiley - blueBalance of Power – ELO

The next five albums I have are:
smiley - applause'Back in the US'/'Back in the World' (bonus point as I have both, which are virtually the same album; they are both from the 2002 World Tour with the 'Back in the US' album released in the US and 'Back in the World' released everywhere else smiley - earth),
smiley - applause'Back to the Egg'
smiley - huhan unnamed soundtrack album you've not guessed yet to a
smiley - applause'Bad Attitude'
smiley - applause'Bad for Good'

Then the next five would start with 'Band on the Run' which you've already guessed.

So that's a whopping score for Icy!

Icy North - 24
Sasha – 1
